Yes. There is a built in puzzle. It in no way has anything to do with the actual cards. There was a prize for solving the puzzle. But Theory 11 doesn't honor anyone solving it. Save your money and buy somewhere else than Theory 11.

Do the cards come in two color sets? There seems to be a red and a gold. My father plays a lot of bridge.

This deck only comes in one color. My father plays a lot of solitaire, mostly on his computer.

Are these Waterproof?

These are Playing cards made from paper. They are not waterproof. You might seek out Playing cards made from plastic.
