Just like it was from DIRECTV
So, why do you buy it from someone else when you can buy it from DIRECTV?In our case, we just installed DIRECTV and had 4 of the units scattered through the house.A few months later, we wanted to add a TV to the office and another for the kitchen.DIRECTV wanted to charge some extra charge of $100 for the privilege of adding another box. This charge was on top for the cost of the box.We saw no reason to pay this. It was supposedly a policy for DIRECTV for a new customer with no previous experience with DIRECTV. The policy makes no sense at all.So, we simply used Amazon to locate the exact model. It comes with a remote control and worked straight out of the box. You'll have to call DIRECTV once it's hooked up and authorize it so that it's legal. If you ever decide to not use DIRECTV - they will ask for the box back even though you paid for it but it's a small price to pay for the convenience of having the TV where you want it.

Worthless - Directv refuses to activate receiver!!!!!
Worthless - Directv refuses to activate receiver!!!!! If you want to buy something that is totally worthless and you then have to pay to return it, this is the item. Directv will NOT activate this receiver, so why are they even allowed to sell it?Waste of time and money!!

No worries with this box.
This Directv box comes brand new in a seled box with the card. I took it out, called Directv and was activated and connected within minutes to my whole home system by Directv. FYI.. Believe it or not, even though I bought this outside of Directv, it was still considered a rental and there will be a monthly rental charge for the box. Directv personnel states all Directv equipment is their property. Just a way to make you pay more money. Works great and a good price.

Nice.. works but the cord doesn't want to ...
Nice .. works but the cord doesn't want to go into the receiver - so I had to substitute a different cord and all of the blue lights don't light up - but other that that cord that doesn't plug all the way into the receiver it works really good and we are happy with it ..

Liked it as long as I had DTV
No longer the case. Gave this back to DTV and went to Verizon since DTV kept raising rates and were the usual idiots in not wanting to retain long time customers. When I first moved to this one house, I had standard def receivers. That was in Sept. of 2011. Black Friday came, and I got two new HD TVs. So the upgrading of the receivers came. DTV was in no way interested in helping me. I was under contract. So I had a choice. Buy this, or get whatever is on their truck (usually old garbage). The newer Genie wasn't available yet. I ordered the H24 and I think H25. One is a DVR and the other one isn't. My house already had the enhanced dish and the electronics needed for these. So I installed these myself. I give these 5 stars and I give DTV 0 Stars. The Genie might be worth it. I don't know. I have no need for a Genie or anything DTV related. When I did have DTV, the whole house networking was really nice, but it took a little getting used to only having one DVR and not being able to the the pause thingie on the non-DVR. Otherwise, excellent.

Make sure the receiver cards are good from whoever sells you the receiver. You might be better off going thru Directv.
When I called Directv to activate the ID cards for the receivers (2), I was told that they couldn’t be activated due to prior use. It is going to cost me $40.00 for new cards.

This is a scam
This product is a scam. The seller does not tell you that the item they are selling is under lease with Direct TV and you can not find that out without the receiver number, which they don't include in their ad. You do not know the receiver number until you buy and get the item. When you try to use it with the Direct TV receiver Card that you take out of your own Direct TV Receiver that you have on lease with Direct TV you get a fault code 764 and the receiver will not work. Code 764 means that you do not have the correct card in the receiver so it will not work. In order to find out if the receiver is still under lease you have to call Direct TV with the receiver number and they will be able to tell you if the receiver you bought is still on lease. They say... NO REFUNDS....What a scam!!!This product was sold to us by R&B Suppliers2013.
