6 PCS Master's Grade Bonsai Tool Set (kit) JTTK-04 from TianBonsai

As a newcomer to bonsai, I agonized for weeks over which brand, metal, grade and which country to buy my bonsai tools from. So I finally decided to buy professional grade, black metal Japanese tools from a very well known importer. I spent quite a bit of money on three tools and was totally disappointed when they arrived. The shears had a lot of play in them and the blades did not even touch. I was told I could hammer the rivet to tighten the shears. I sent them back. So I revisited the attractive TianBonsai website and decided I would give the Chinese maker a chance. I was not disappointed. As a metal spinner for the last 22 years, I know a little about hand tools and I can tell you these are well made, feel solid and are beautifully finished stainless steel tools. I will enjoy these for years to come. The set also comes with a durable handsome black faux leather tool case that protects the tools when not in use. TianBonsai's service was outstanding. Paul at TIanBonsai goes the extra mile to answer promptly any questions you may have about their products and to provide the best service. My tools arrived much quicker than I had anticipated. At first I was a little wary of purchasing low cost stainless tools from China... poor workmanship and materials were my main concerns. The tools didn't take too long to arrive (about a week) and then I got a look at these tools, got to feel them working in my hands... Excellent set of high quality, precision ground bonsai tools. The working action is very smooth and has a nice balanced feel to them when using. They are sharp and the edges meet perfectly so as not to damage a bonsai you are working on while requiring minimal effort. I was so pleased I eventually purchased another 5 tools individually from the same manufacturer over the next several weeks to complete my tool set... they have a variety of other tools you can added to any set. I selected all of them from the same quality level, the "Master Bonsai Tools" line. I still can't believe I got such high quality stainless steel tools for such a low price. These literally will last me forever.

Not only did this NOT arrive on time but the product in the picture does not match what was received. I went through all the information and it did not say anywhere that "product in picture might not be product you receive." I know it came from China but product was ordered well in advance of time needed.

I'm very satisfied. These tools are efficient and also beautiful. The kit presents the essential tools and a little more for the beginner.

Received before Christmas and will look at after Christmas.
