Written directly for teens and 'tweens', "Don't Stick Your Chewing Gum Under the Pews" explains many of the concepts of Catholicism in terms that young adults can relate. The authour does well in talking to them, not talk at them, and use a little teenage jargon, a little humor, and references that make the topic of Catholicism more readliy acceptable in these formative years. The text outlines the way for a teenager to develop a life with God at its core; how to pray; and how to identify those things that keep us from God. Life's lessons abound, but not in a dictatorial sense. The author goes to lengths to not only explain each topic, but furthermore, how they relate it to their adolescent lives.
