NutriChef PWIRBBQ90 Bluetooth Meat Thermometer Smart Wireless Kitchen Remote Instant Read BBQ Temperature Probe for Grill, Normal

I purchased this product based on the reviews and when I first got started using it I was impressed with the ease at which I was able to set it up and start using it. I also liked the range at which it transmitted the temperature to my phone. After several uses over the summer BBQ season, it seems that the probe stopped working. The unit would connect to my phone but would not display the temperature either on the unit or on my phone. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue with this product and if so how was it resolved.Updated - When the probe is connected the temperature reading shoots up to 527 degrees and stays there for some time even when removed from the heat source.

Works great for me thus far - I made a perfectly rare steak with a decent crust on 2 of my first 3 tries, and I think the one that was slightly overdone was on me (turned it late). The app gets poor reviews, but I found it very simple to pair and use. In terms of shortcomings, the app doesn't notify you of the ideal time to turn your steak, but *I think* that I've worked that out to be around 90 degrees of the way to 130. You should also note that the device cannot be stuck to the side of the BBQ while it is fired up (so the picture is a bit misleading). Despite these quibbles, I think this was $30 well spent. After all, if it saves just one steak from ruin, then it's pretty much paid for itself, right?

I liked this for quite a while but it then suddenly stopped working. Don't know if it's the temperature probe or the unit. I always looked after it.Such a shame. It was my go-to digital probe and I've had a few.

Tried the Nutrichef on a meatloaf today. An analog thermometer was used to check the accuracy of the Nutrichef and they were identical. The bluetooth connection worked fine with my phone worked as well. The only quibble, and it is small: The instructions mention a button atop the device to pair the phone. There is no switch atop the device. Despite that anomaly, pairing was established and it worked fine.
