We like the look but find the inside collection bucket sits further down than we had hoped,making it seem much bigger on the outside - I expect it's so the lid can move freely.Not cheap - mounts on bathroom wall - mounting included, maybe i'd go a little bigger for a family bathroom - ok for single occupant or people who are away a lot.No issues with construction or plastics etcAs with all premium brands you pay more, but there's a 10 year warranty on all of this companies bins, and they actually do replace parts via post free no question on our older big bins - real people on the phone too!

While I knew it would be relatively small, not much room inside at all. ... ☹ Furthermore, it's both fiddly and really time consuming to get the Brabantia liner edges hidden without the plastic showing externally because the bin insert has such a restricted fitting via two grooved inserts. ... And if you get that wrong the lid operation doesn't work smoothly either! Some time ago, I gave my much larger 40/45L Brabantia kitchen bin a 5 star rating without hesitation. But not so on this one, which I feel is way overpriced and relative to it being a functional item is a definite no. ... For me, the only redeeming features are that it appears well made and looks nice in our bathroom. Otherwise I would rate it 1 star.

The basis of this bin for looks, no pedal needed, and practicality in theory looks good. Unfortunately in practice it is let down because the 5 liter bag type B was never designed to fit it. Unlike the 3 liter bin which I also have this has a designed bag which fits tightly around the rim. the 5 liter bin has the rim to take a bag but the type B bag is too big and that is the problem as it flops over the top of the bin and has to be pushed down between the bin liner and the bin side. This creates a problem because the bin liner has a scalloped shape running the depth of the bin on each side. The bin has a protruding bracket on each side to mesh with the bin liners scalloped sides. The bin has a slot on each side and the bin liner has locating pegs. If the bin bag was the correct fit these pegs and slots would fit perfectly but does not. and what you end up with is a lot of bagginess around the top of the bin when the bin liner is pushed into the bin which makes it more difficult to get out and pushing the lid to open it exposes the baggy liner and may stop the lid from closing properly. While the 5 liter bin bag will do the job it is a pity that Brabantia did not design a specific bag to fit this bin in the proper manner. rather than trying to cut corners as a one fit, fits all.

Bought this for my bathroom, but moved it to the kitchen to use for food waste, as it could be attached to the kitchen wall at a comfortable height and was much prettier than the compost caddy anyway. I use compostable waste bags, and the bin is large enough to hold half-a-week's waste without any smells. It is easy to keep clean with a simple wipe, which I sadly need to do every so often after emptying wet tea leaves into the bin... The sliding lid is both useful and a nuisance - it is useful for a wall-mounted bin, but reduces the available space. (I replaced this bin with a 5l pedal bin in my bathroom, which has more usable space.) Also, as the lid won't stay up, you need to use both hands when chucking in the waste. Despite these quibbles, it is a great bin.

Purchased for small bedroom. Looks smart and of good quality, lid hides rubbish, no unsightly liner over top of bin, and easy to empty.There is quite a bit of wasted space between inner bucket and outer bin, but this does allow for storage of bin liners underneath inner bucket. The only niggle is how small the opening in the lid is.
