Fair warning, I don't really care for 2D movies, so please, don't read this review if you are wanting to hear about the 2D movie quality. But.....for all you Blu-ray 3D fans out there, this product is for YOU! Finally we can watch a 3D movie with zero ghosting and totally IMAX resolution with no pixelation!!! This product up-converts your 1080p blu-rays into something like 4K quality!! I've been waiting for many years for a product like this!! The 3D quality is spectacular! More pop up than ever, and the depth will drive you crazy! I have never felt closer to the picture and all its clarity. I keep looking for pixels and something to complain about, but its really hard. The IMAX like, closeness to the screen is wonderful, but does come with a few minor draw backs. You do have to shift your head slightly to focus on different areas of the screen (for optimal clarity). The far corners are pretty much out of your field of view, I found this annoying at first, but then I realized its a small price to pay to get this close to the clarity of the IMAX screen....and of course closer, means better 3D effects! I can honestly say that I now enjoy all my 3D movies in a much more immersed sort of way. The unit is only designed to run a few minutes on battery (but this can save you if you need to move locations or accidentally get unplugged). The only small issue I'm having with my Cinera is that there is occasional frame skipping. The degree of frame skipping varies a bit with different blu-ray players, but the Cinera team has assured me that they are working on the problem and are confident of a solution coming up via firmware update.

Having owned the Sony HMZ T2 as well as the Royole Moon prior Cinera, I must say that Cinera outmaneuvers its competitors by being the most comfortable headset and delivers the promised immersive movie experience.Cinera strikes with a massive resolution of 5120 X 1440p and a huge 66-degree field of view. The dual screens offer a very clear picture and vivid colors, which is is especially pronounced in the 3D mode, as the brightness remains similar to a 2D movie.Compared to my previous movie head mounts, I found that Cinera has no screen door effect and no ghosting, which improves the movie experience immensely.Everything with Cinera runs basically plug and play, like if you add an USB memory stick with movies, VLC will auto detect the device and ask you to transfer the movies on the stick to the media library, really a nerd save concept.The customer service responds very fast and patiently to all my questions and solved the problems I have forwarded to them in a very professional and friendly manner. Really top service.All in all, Cinera is really a very elegant looking head mount, super comfortable to wear and creates a fantastic movie watching experience.Thumps up and I’m looking forward to the promised Blu-Ray 3D update!

This is a real breakthrough in 3D television. I tried the first Sony attempt at a 3D headset, but I eventually had to consign it to the dustbin. The picture quality was poor and grainy, and the damned thing was painful to use, with most or all of the weight of the unit on your nose. The Cinera is a whole new experience, light years better than the Sony, with no grain and no ghosting at all and the weight is all on the arm (and the supporting furniture to which the arm is attached.) I can't say enough good things about the Cinera. I'm not using the Cinera audio, however. Instead I am using the Cinera with a Smyth A8 7.1 binaural emulator and Sennhesier HD 800 S cans and couldn't be happier; the A8 and the Cinera are made for each other. Because of the Cinera, I'm going to start buying 3D blu-rays again. If you haven't seen 3D on the Cinera, you probably don't know how good it can be. If you have any interest at all in 3D video, you definitely should try the Cinera.

I just got the Cinera headset in today and having owned the Royole Moon and Sony HMZT3 before (as well as the Glyph but honestly they are not really a home theater device), my thoughts are the picture quality is very good, probably the best out of all 3. The blacks might not be as deep due to non OLED but its not too noticeable. There's 2 main issues I have: the motion blur / low refresh rate when things move too fast makes it unsuitable for gaming, this is mainly a movie device, and secondly the HDMI connection does not passthrough to bluetooth, only to the aux jack so my bluetooth headphones didn't work with HDMI input. Other than that, I really like it. I might still keep the Royole Moon though because the built in headphones on that are nice, and its portable. The Cinera HMD is for home use unless you buy the FPV mount.

This is the perfect gadget for watching movies for a long period of time.First of all, this headset is very comfortable to you as it's not strapped to your head, but fixed to a six-axis arm, which can be assembled to any table or even onto my lazy boy chair.5 starts for comfort.Secondly, Cinera has two 2.5k screens which allow watching 3D movies without having to wear uncomfortable 3D shutter glasses and create super sharp and clear image. It's no longer just watching a movie but submerge into it... really awesome experience. So 5 stars for the movie experience.Thirdly, this device supports so far all movie apps I have tried, such as Netflix, YouTube, HULU, etc which can easily be streamed via Wi-Fi on it.Also, the user interface is very well organized and easy to control.Therefore, 5 Stars for user experience.Last but not least, with the inbuild HDMI port, I can use this product as a second 3D compatible computer screen or connect it to any other HDMI output device and watch the content on it. For that I will give another 5 Stars for making it compatible with my existing movie gadgets.I really love this thing and can highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys watching movies.
