What's the difference between this product and Vicks?  Why might you pick this over the other?

The Mentholatum No Mess Roll On has the same active ingredients (except not synthetic ingredients like vicks, but Mentholatum is all natural and been around since 1889) at a higher level and it is easier to use on kids. Why anyone uses Vicks is beyond me I made the switch and there is no comparison. check on the no mess roll on ingredients compared to vicks below. I Bought the topical analgesic rub, thinking it was good for colds, but it says its for sore muscles. Did i buy the wrong thing? Is it like vicks?

Mentholatum Ointment® has been around for over a 125 years. It traditionally was labeled to use for congestion, skin rashes, sun burn, scraped skin, coughs and muscle aches and pains. The product has not changed, just the labeling.  This product is great for helping relieve cold symptoms.

petrolatum has been linked to causing cancer. is this product natural or not? it seems to be a bit deceiving/misleading.

It says 100% Natural ACTIVE INGREDIENTS. The base is petrolatum. Yeah, misleading, like so many products. (Of course some folks will think it's all natural just because of the green packaging.)

does this help with coldsores?

Many years ago I read an article that stated Vaseline has the same pH as our skin.  The article suggested that Vaseline would soothe many skin irritants, so I tried it on my cold sore. The cold sore went away in less than two days.  I've passed on this info to many people but only a few tried it and those few people have thanked me many times over the years because they don't get cold sores any more.  There are three things to remember to do:  1. Began applying as soon as you feel a cold sore coming on.  2. Only use the Vaseline product that is in the "tub" and not in a tube, etc.  That product has more petroleum jelly which neutralizes the acid that causes the cold sores.  3.  Apply the Vaseline all day, every time you think about it.  You can even apply it inside your mouth, such as the inside of your lip.  Personally, I get cold sores when I eat too much acidic foods (tomatoes, pickles, etc) or I am very stressed out (when my dad died, when family trauma occurs, etc), or don't drink enough water and my mouth dries out.  I hope this info helps.
