Great for my 7 year old
I bought this game based on the reviews here. I rated this game based on my son's opinion since he is the one I bought it for. Well, my son LOVES this game. It is the first game that he can actually handle (besides a Diego one we rented a couple of years ago that he completed in 2 hours), and, although it is "timed", every time you interact with something, time stops to give you time to do it. It also has a LOT of talking that slows down the game for me, but, again, my son just loves it. I think the talking helps slow down the pace of the game for him so he doesn't feel he is under pressure. We have a LOT of other Wii games (Star Wars, Legos, Band Hero, Smash bros brawl, etc) but they are generally too hard for him to play well--to think and act at the same time and do several actions at once.I like this game because it makes him think and put puzzles together--First, do this, then this, then this to get this. And the pattern changes so that he has to try new things to get passed the bad guys. It is not dark or scary. It has a lot of ingame help. Each section is short so he doesn't get tired of attempting it. Graphics are cute and silly, though the skull and crossbones when you die can be a little much for the more sensitive children. It just really fits into a niche that doesn't have a lot of games out there...6-10 year olds wthout being violent or ominous (unlike Mushroom men:Spore wars...too dark for him--it is not that dark, but to a 7 year old...). I know because I have been looking.EDIT:It is now 2012 and my sons (now 9, 13) STILL love this game. They even introduce it to their friends who now come over all excited to play it. This is one of the few Wii games that has had longevity in our home.

Great puzzle/adventure game for the Wii
If you love solving puzzles, Zack & Wiki is a true surprise & delight, with great challenges, fun characters, and even laughs! I hope they come out with a sequel for this game!I wasn't expecting much from this title when I first looked at the box -- it looked like it might be some uninspired cartoonish game for young kids. Turns out that I was totally wrong. This game is perfect for adults, and it is super well-designed with an unbelievable attention to detail. Every puzzle is both fun to solve and challenging to figure out! Almost every puzzle contains multiple mini-puzzles within it, and then you must do everything in the right sequence with the right timing. If not, you get killed and have to start that puzzle all over again (although you are presented with opportunities to revive yourself to wherever you were before you got killed). There's even a built-in hint oracle who can help you if you get stuck. The graphics are absolutely phenomenal, the characters are cute & fun to interact with; the music & sound effects are perfectly suited for each puzzle, and each puzzle introduces you to little mini-characters & miniature plotlines. You literally feel like you're being whisked away to faraway islands for each puzzle. Oh, and I almost forgot: the use of the Wii controller to solve puzzles is very creative. Some of the puzzles will take you a while to figure out -- some of the more intricate ones can take an hour or more to figure out.The only thing that's a slight downer is that there's no spoken dialogue in the game -- you have to read what the animated characters are saying. But they certainly have fun vocal sounds to listen to.Overall, this game is FUN & CHALLENGING, and you will find yourself hooked on it in no time. Capcom, please come out with a sequel!

My favorite Wii game so far
For Christmas I got the Wii for my family along with several games. Zack & Wiki was one I purchased based on the reviews I saw and it has met my expectations. The reviews I saw mentioned that this game reminded them of the old Sierra adventure games such as Monkey Island, Sam and Max, and Day of the Tentacle. These are all games I enjoyed and I hoped this would fit in. Zack & Wiki clearly fits in with this type of adventure game. Each level provides a new challenge to overcome, and the puzzles get harder and harder to figure out. I got stuck on a few levels and cheated and looked at some walkthroughs. I put several hours of playing time into this and enjoyed every minute. Now that I'm done I can go back and redo the levels and find more treasures and try to get more points. The game also takes good advantage of the Wii remote, but note that this is not a game that requires quick reflexes. The game is more of an adventure game with a good story line. My 11-year old son has also enjoyed the game. All ages should enjoy this game, except for the very young. This is a good game to add to your collection of Wii software. I highly recommend it.

I need to play this more
I bought this game awhile ago and played it for about 30 minutes and then never put it back in. I have literally not played it for more than 30 minutes and I have owned this game for years now. Maybe I didn't give it enough time but it obviously didn't speak to me in volumes initially. All the good reviews are making me want to play it again. I will give it shot sometime soon I hope but I will have to give it 3 stars for not making me want to play it. I will update the review if need be later on.

Fantastic game with great puzzles
Excellent game and fun for the whole family. Puzzles are challenging but fair, never resorting to unfair, illogical puzzles.
