There was a time when sink were just a basin to hold water. There was a style for the kitchen and a style for the bathroom and beyond that no one gave sinks much thought.Times have changed and the variety of sink styles available today is virtually endless. This one at first looks like just an ordinary oval but in fact it is maybe the best shape ever designed for the bathroom.DESCRIPTIONMost oval sinks are rounded in every dimension, making the bowl shallow and the area in back of the faucet useless. Kohler dramatically changes that starting by making the area behind the faucet a steep vertical wall to maximize usability. Then rather than a gently sloping bowl the sides plunge sharply down to a flat bottom. The result is a bowl that can be filled far deeper and is far less prone to splashing regardless of the faucet type.COLORSAs you would expect from Kohler, this model is available in a myriad of fashionable colors but to my eye the Dune color that I bought almost takes your breath away in its beauty. Dune is a complex shade that contains very slight hints of gray, tan and lavender so the sink looks different under varying lighting conditions. If you look at it all by itself you almost think it is merely off-white. I chose it for a pure white countertop to bring focus to the subtle hues of the Dune color. Combined with a unique contemporary waterfall fixture my modest investment resulted in a whole new look for my bath.INSTALLATIONThe sink is meticulously finished and substantially made. Drop-in installation was simple and the surface around the faucet hole is absolutely flat, important if you a using single hole designer fixtures.Kohler sinks are only modestly more than generic brands but the look is priceless. This is a top of the line product.

When I could not find the sinks I needed locally my next thought was Amazon Prime. With measurements in hand, I spent around half an hour searching to find the right size and shape sinks with one-hole for my new faucets. With a click or two the sinks were on their way. They arrived within the two days promised.I was amazed at how well they were packaged: very heavy-duty boxes with big thick styrofoam (the non-toxic type) surrounding a second internal thick box that had large (probably 10 x 24" each) blue cooler-type pads surrounding the sinks so they could not move and would be protected in case of impact to the boxes (but not a scrape or ding to either box). The sinks inside were perfectly fine. On top of the excellent shipping, the manufacture of the sinks is all I could have hoped for without being able to see them first. After this experience I would not be afraid to purchase similar items through Amazon Prime.And, for "local retailers" who whine about people buying online, I went to many (at least five !) building supply retailers locally none of whom had a sink I could use at a reasonable price (under $200 each), nor were they interested in even ordering the bathroom sinks for me. (Ooops, one would order it from same manufacturer but it was 6 to 12 weeks delivery time.) These sinks are beautiful at a very reasonable price and excellent service to get them. Thanks.

Lovely sink. I wanted a rectangle sink but have a small cabinet as the sink base. I was worried that a rectangle may not fit correctly. Usually oval sink have a mostly traditional look and I'm going for something a bit more contemporary. I took a gamble on this based on other reviews. I'm so glad I did. This sink has plenty of depth and the flattish bottom and back really modernize the oval shape. I paired this sink with the Moen Eva one handle faucet and it is going to be an awesome combo once installed. The high arc of the Moen Eva reaches nicely into the sink center and looks super classy while being contemporary. Also an affordable combination!**EDITED AND UPDATED** This is still a very lovely sink. However it is going back and we are ordering the same version but in round. Still love the look but as someone who washes their face each night I noticed that the distance from the front of the basin to where my high arch facet will sit leaves very little room for the water to drip off my face. Meaning that all the splash water will end up on and run down the faucet and cause a mess each time. I looked at the measurements and the round version while narrower, does provide an additional 5 inches in the front/back measurement of the basin. For me, the front back depth is more important that a very wide sink. Just something to think about....

Its a unique shape but i had a unique situationExisting sink was a top mount with center set valve installed. Counter cut out required a sink large enough to cover cut out in exist top and accept 1 hole faucetIt worked out great. Improved the whole look and did not have spend $$$$ on new marble counter

The sink arrived intact and flawless. It is replacing a sink of the same type, which broke, to maintain the style throughout my bathrooms. Four stars because I know it can break. It is not metal or metal reenforced. A heavy object fell out of the medicine cabinet over the sink and went through the bottom. I will no longer place heavy objects above the sink in that cabinet. The heavy object was a resin toothbrush holder. The cabinet shelf tilted, the holder fell and just kept going, Kept going right through the bottom of the original sink of the same stile.Edited to correct spellings and for clarification. Four stars but I like this sink enough that I bought it again.

We love the sink. It came well packed in a HUGE box so it was safe and sound when it arrived. It has the right touches of contemporary and classic and looks great with our new faucet. It's also nice and deep and we love that. We would recommend it to anyone.
