Q: Will a iPhone 7plus fit in this case ?

I use a 6 plus so I’m not sure but I believe it’s the same size. I suggest you Check on Apple site for dimensions to confirm.

Q: what type of material is the inner layer (that would touch the screen) made of? Is it soft, will absorb dirt/oil indwell start to roll up like felt?

The inner liner feels like a vinyl or similar type material with a fine felt feel to the touch. There is room for 1 business or ID card on the inside cover and 2 cards on the inside back. The magnet closures are strong and a thin case. I have been through many cases looking for the ‘Right Fit’. This is that case. Cleans up well from fingerprints, smudges, and general funk. This is still going strong and it IS the only case I’d recommend. Hope this helps narrow the choices for you.

Q: Will this fit an 8+ ?

The description for this particular OtterBox says it fits the 6 Plus and the 6S Plus which is what I have. I have no idea about the size of the 8 Plus. Maybe you could check to see if the sizes are the same? It's a great case - very rich looking. Good luck!
