Question 1

What is the source of the melatonin? It says is natural and vegan but I cant find anything identifying the source.

Accepted Answer

Dear Customer,
Melatonin is not sourced or extracted from any material but is synthetic and actually created on an elemental level. Two forms of melatonin exist in the general market. One is the natural form which comes from the pineal gland of animals and a synthetic form following the same chemical pathway as natural melatonin; it is a pharmaceutical grade of synthetic melatonin, so therefore it is safer to use because it is free from biological contaminants. Natural source melatonin, on the other hand, may pose a risk to humans because it can be contaminated with animal viruses. So that is why it is manufactured to synthesize a natural form.
