Amazing Theme-based ESL Worksheets for beginners -Theme: Employment

I am an ESL teacher in Maryland. I purchased this (and 3 other workbooks by the same author) for use in my classroom. I am very disappointed in the quality/content of these books. The books were published in Ontario, Canada, so many of the words, spellings and phrases are presented in "British" English as opposed to "American" English. (Colour for color, honour for honor, "go on holiday" instead of "go on vacation," and bum for rear-end). So, while the English is not technically incorrect, it is not necessarily accurate for an ESL class in the United States. Also, the clipart used on the worksheets is very small and is either extremely dark (so it copies as a black blob, or is so light that it doesn't copy at all! I returned all four of the workbooks.

Very good lessons for teaching ESL adults! The lessons are well done and the illustration and pictures are good. I will use it with my Latino students. The lessons have a good progression to more difficult English.

An excellent book. I used this with my class. There's a nice variety of activities to keep the students engaged and interested. The students really loved how the vocabulary is integrated with the grammar and everything is repeated and reinforced. I use the image bank to introduce and reinforce the vocabulary

I have used this book in a few of my classes now. It's very helpful for learners from a range of cultural backgrounds and literacy levels as it has many images to help them. There is also a lot of repetition, which is really important for the beginner classes. I love how the vocabulary is built up and then integrated with the grammar and every day expressions. There's a nice set of flash cards at the back, and fun activities like crossword puzzles to help reinforce the vocabulary.

This is a well-written book with some great activities for beginner classes. It has lots of activities about employment that will be useful for adult immigrants or students who need English in their job.
