SHIMANOFC-M612 40/30/22T 10-Speed Deore Crankset

Used this as a direct replacement for the 3 piece crank set the came on my Long Haul Trucker. I now have about 500 miles on it and it has been wonderful. My bike is less than a year old and we were constantly having to deal with crank set and front derailleur problems. Finally just gave up and trashed the originals and installed this crank set and matching derailleur, wish I had used these from the start. We have since put the 170mm crank arm version on my wife's Disc Trucker. Cannot for the life of me understand why Surly is not using these as the originals. You will not be disappointed, it is well worth the money.

Needed shorter cranksets for my gravel/mountain bike that came with a shimano deore 12 speed rear derailleur and these fit the bill. Direct mount chain ring allows replacement of old chainrings, although i wish shimano offered higher tooth count direct mount chainrings for their 12-speed hyper glide plus system. Would have otherwise given a 5 star if they did.

Easy replacement for stock cranks. They look better than the stock crankset I removed to make my groupset a full-Shimano setup. I like the direct mount chainring and plan to swap the 30T for a 32T at some point but I like both options. Easy to service which is great because I regularly remove my cranks to service them and clean to mitigate creaky noises and keep them gliding buttery smooth.

Its great if you are looking for a single speed crankset, but if you were looking for 3 speed (as it is advertised) then you will be very dissapointed.

very nice crank at a reasonable price. it is stiff and efficient, and shifts nicely. I changed out my 2 by 10 crank to this one and I like the greater range of gears it offers. can climb just about any hill and get a better top end gear as well.

I had it installed on a specialized rockhopper 29er, for the past month, Ive acquired it since the XCR suntour crankset was mal functioning (i guess this model had this failure), it's smooth even though I still have 8 gears on the back and use a KMC chain. Im looking forward to have the same confidence with shimano products.
