Good book
Jar of Hearts was a really good book! I liked the investigative parts and how the pieces fell together the further you read. I was definitely convinced that Calvin was behind the murders of the women and children until I realized maybe the rape scene produced a child just as sadistic as the parents and I was right. I had a little hope of maybe it was still Calvin, but then realized also that kids that grow up the way Dominic did usually turn resentful, and again, I was right! So, yes, it was a little predictable, but still a good story all around. Minor misplacement of words and sometimes missing words in sentences. I would recommend this book for an adult audience. It has some triggering situations such as rape and child murders, so if that's a touchy subject then maybe not the best book for you. I love your murder mystery, Jennifer! Can't wait to see what else you've written!

An Emotionally Gripping Thriller with Unexpected Depths
"Jar of Hearts" is a novel that takes readers on an intense and emotionally exhausting journey, weaving a well-crafted plot with numerous twists and turns that keep you hooked until the very end. Jennifer Hillier's storytelling prowess shines through, as she crafts a narrative that not only keeps you on the edge of your seat but also delves into the complexities of human emotion and relationships. The story follows Georgina "Geo" Shaw, a woman haunted by her past involvement in a brutal crime. As the tale unfolds, Hillier expertly peels back the layers of Geo's history, revealing a web of secrets, lies, and the unbreakable bonds of friendship and family. The author's ability to create multidimensional characters adds depth to the narrative, making it easy to empathize with their struggles and motivations. One of the standout aspects of "Jar of Hearts" is its emotional impact. Hillier doesn't shy away from exploring the darkest corners of human nature, and the resulting emotional toll on the reader is palpable. You'll find yourself fully invested in Geo's journey, experiencing her triumphs and anguish as if they were your own. It's a testament to the author's skill that she can evoke such visceral reactions from her audience. However, it's important to note that the book delves into some disturbing subject matter, including Geo's complicated relationship with her son and the parallels drawn between him and his father. While Hillier's portrayal of a mother's conflicted emotions is understandable, some readers may find the comparison unsettling or even frustrating.Despite this potential point of contention, "Jar of Hearts" remains a gripping and well-crafted thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. Hillier's ability to weave together intricate plot threads and explore the depths of human emotion makes for a truly immersive and unforgettable reading experience. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers that don't shy away from the darker aspects of human nature, "Jar of Hearts" is an absolute must-read. Just be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster that will leave you both satisfied and emotionally drained by the time you reach the final page.

A smart girl who made a terrible mistake
The book is intriguing to say the least. You have an FMC - Georgia/Geo who is sent to prison for a crime she participated in 14 years ago.Geo has more thoughts than dialogue. During the story, you’re hooked trying to find out what happened and why/how she allowed it to happen. It flashes back from her time in prison to her teen years of what led up to the murder of her best friend Angela. The way the author describes the friendship between the two is extremely relatable. One is prettier than the other in a “look at me and only me” kind of way and the other is also pretty, just more subtle and used to being runner up compared to her BFF. Then there is Kaiser the male bff rounding out the trio who is in love with the FMC yet he’s been friend zoned. One fateful day, Geo meets her first true love who is much too old for her at the time and she falls fast. The lines of what’s normal gets blurred. She wakes up to realize she’s in too deep with this guy and he’s ruining everything she loves in her 16 yr old life. She and Angela get drunk at a party. The events later that night seal their fates. It takes 14 years for the detective and police force to find Angela’s remains & bring the two responsible to justice. When you read the events that happened that night, it’s clear to me that the girls or at least Geo was most likely drugged in her drink by her boyfriend but it’s never stated. The story definitely has lots of twists and turns but not too unpredictable once we find out whose been sending Geo letters in prison. It’s well written but the author keeps some secrets up and until the end. I knew this book was written prior to 2020 when law & order meant something in Seattle. The talk of liberalism made me want to DNF it bc their politics are ruining our country. However, politics aside, it’s a worthy read.

Probably one of the best books I've ever read. Kept me on my toes and the story sticks with you. The book quality was great, shipping was fast and print was great. I have zero complaints other than I wish the story didn't end! If you're thinking about buying this book, don't think any further. Just BUY IT!

JAR OF HEARTS by Jennifer Hillier
Never read a book by her before. I'm sure glad I did. It's a complex, thrilling story. I was so focused on it that when Cat died suddenly from cancer, I wanted to get up and tell my wife, "Damn! Cat died," but she wouldn't know what I was talking about. It was an excellent read.

Surprising Plot twists
First time reading this author. Don't remember what drew me to this book, but glad it did. Well written, with plenty of plot twists with layered storyline. Really enjoyed it. My only wish was for more story for the final scene. But i will read more from this author.

Jennifer Hillier is amazing
This book, ugh. All of Jennifer Hilliers books I’ve read so far have been amazing but this one… is probably the best. What a twisted tale of love, murder, and secrets. Most of the twists I didn’t really catch on to until they were almost revealed. It was just so good and by the end I was crying! 5 stars, 10/10. Just so so so good!
