Chihiros C2 RGB 3 Channel Dimmable Aquarium LED Light with App Controller Built-in, Suitable for Nano Tanks Up to 18inch in Length

This is an awesome light--in league with offerings from Twinstar, ONF, Kessel, ADA etc. Because of its high performance LEDs and high degree of control, it's spectrum and colour rendition is extensive and impressively capable. For my tastes, I especially like how it accentuates reds and greens. And it's ability to grow plants, excels. It's everything you want in a plant light.Some people have complained about the app. It's not that bad. If you're a little savvy with today's wireless bluetooth technologies operated by an app, then you should be able to figure this one out.Granted, it's not as good as fluval's app for their lights, but really it's not that bad.Someone here also said it produces a glare.. it does.. but only if you look at it from below, basically staring right up into the light,.. this is also true even for a standard light bulb in your room. If you don't do that, stare into it, then you'll be ok. This reviewer also said the glare could've been remedied by a diffuser. Not really true. I have other lights with diffusers installed. Guess what? Still a glare. It's a common effect. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal and this light more than compensates with great performance. I see the results and I can't complain.

I previously used an older ADA Aquasky LED and I have to say I love the switch my C2! The lighting is still bright enough even for demanding plants and CO2 injection. The RGB settings make my colours pop and I love being able to set my lighting schedules through the Chihiros app. It may be a downside for those that don't want to use an app since you can't manually change the settings but I don't mind. I also love the form factor, it doesn't dwarf my 30cm tank like other lights do and being able to swivel it of the way during maintenance is a big advantage.Just, be aware of your plants' reaction to high lighting before buy. This gets very bright. I don't recommend for low tech tanks. For example, I'd been intending for my Alternanthera Reineckii (red, left back corner) to grow tall for the background, but under this lighting it grows out instead of up. However my Crypt Parva Mini in the foreground is finally growing fast enough to start spreading out.I certainly don't recommend for non-planted tanks except on the lowest brightness settings (<20%). Otherwise is just asking for algae blooms.

Where do I start with this light? Is it the ease of the set up? Or the endless light combinations for just the right mood?I have never had a fancy light over my tanks however I wanted to try my hand at live plants . The packaging for this is even beautiful. I had it set up and running in less then 5 minutes. The free app that you download is simple to use. You can program many aspects of this light. I love that I can turn this off remotely.As for the performance it is outstanding. I really spent time enjoying my tank. It is constant. No flickering and it has no lag from the app. I can already see new growth on my plants. I have not one complaint. I plan on getting this for each tank I own. YOU WILL NOT REGRET PICKING THIS LIGHT!

The app to control the lights could be better

I think the light is great. You can control the color, intensity, and duration of the light in an almost infinite amount of ways. It fits my tank well and looks good. My only gripe is that the light came in its original box, with no tape, plastic shrink wrap, or anything the secure it from opening. They just slapped a sticker on the product box and shipped it. It's a slide-on lid type of box, and I was actually very surprised it made it through the mail like that without anything coming up missing. For that reason alone, I probably will not be purchasing this light again from this vendor. The attached picture is exactly how it showed up at my door. Minus the black marks to hide potentially sensitive data.

This light has far surpass my expectation and honestly to me is one of the best light for nano planted tanks in it's price range. First it uses RGB diodes instead of White LEDs which allows you to select the correct color temperature for your tank and make your fish and plants pop. Second this light is FULLY Customizable with the mychihiros app which has a timer, ramp up and down function as well as individual control of the RGB colors. All other similar lights (twinstar, ONF, ADA) are preset and cannot really be customizable like the Chihiros C2. The Chihiros C2 allows you to pretty much make any color combinations you like. You want the light to look like twinstar you can, change your mind and want it to look more like ADA where greens pop up, you can.Finally the light comes on a swivel base which means you can position it pretty much anyway you like.

As someone who has tried several of these, the C2 is absolutely the best. I don't even know where to begin: It has the app to control the timer AND change hues of color. Say you want a pinkish hue, you got it. Maybe Greenish tint, you got it. This light is so versatile, it can fit a 2 gallong tank or a 30 gallon tank depending on how bright you set up with the app.In this price range, I don't know how you can choose something else. The next alternative is the ONF nano, which is more expensive, less bright, no color control, no timer, is way less sturdy. C2 feels like a polite tank just illuminating life to its lushness.If you couldnt tell already, I really like this light and hope you get a chance to get one of these so you can like it too.

When you first get the product it requires a little bit of assembling but well worth it. This light is absolutely perfect for my goldfish tank and brings out the bright colors in the goldfish. I can tell you that After buying 2 separate lights for aquariums, this one is the best and brightest and well worth the money. I have mine hooked up to an automatic timer which turns on and off which is super convenient and easy to use. Overall 5 stars and worth the buy!!!

Los materiales son muy sólidos y de excelente calidad, excelente luminosidad para acuarios plantados de altos requerimientos. Cuenta con dimmer y configuración por tiempo mediante la app y una conexión Bluetooth con el móvil. El único detalle es que el panel se calienta en base a la intensidad que se configura pero el mismo cuerpo de la lampara sirve para discipar un poco.

Es una lámpara que no es barata, aunque con el tiempo se amortiza.Tengo la de 45cm y va de lujo, por eso compré esta para mi betario.

Habe mir die Leuchte für ein 30 Liter Nano Becken von Dennerle mit ausschließlich roten Pflanzen zugelegt und bin von der Qualität und der Leistung nicht sehr überrascht, weil ich mich im Vorfeld natürlich informiert habe, aber dass das Licht so fein ist, habe ich mir so nicht vorstellen können.Ich verwende in meinen anderen Becken (von 30 bis 450 Liter) ausschließlich LEDs von Fluval (Plant 3.0) weil mir das natürliche Lichtspektrum gefällt und die Bedienung mit Sonnenauf- und Untergang super easy ist. Aber das Lichspektrum, das die Chihiros-LEDs macht, schafft Fluval schlichtweg nicht.Die Kritik (bezogen auf den Datenschutz!) dass alles über einen chinesischen Server läuft kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. ich hätte jetzt bei einer amerikanischen Firma auch kein "besseres" Gefühl als bei einer chinesischen. Abgesehen davon hat der Hersteller ja nur meine Mailadresse und ich habe bis Dato noch keine Werbemail aus China bekommen. Dagegen schon sehr viele von anderen Herstellern obwohl ich dort keine Newsletter abonniert hatte.Was schon etwas problematisch sein könnte, man muss sich in der App anmelden um die Einstellung sämtlicher Chihiros-Produkte einstellen und verändern zu können. Das gibt es aber bei anderen Herstellern auch. Sollte es hier ein technische Problem geben (z.B. mit dem Server in China oder wo auch immer ...) dann kann ich die Lampe nicht einstellen (vermute ich mal). Dieses Thema gibt es aber leider bei sehr vielen Smart Home Produkten und mittlerweile gehören da auch Aquariumlampen dazu. Dazu kann ich nur sagen, damit leben oder kategorisch ablehnen. Fluval hat hier ein App ohne Anmeldung was ich jetzt auch besser finde.ABER: Nachdem Chihiros mittlerweile auch eine Kooperation mit Dennerle eingegangen ist kann ich mir nicht vorstellen, das die Firma in absehbarer Zeit Ihren Service einstellt nur um uns Aquarianer zu ärgern. Ich denke das von diesem Unternehmen noch sehr viel gute Produkte kommen werden.Die Lampe ist eine klare Empfehlung von mir (mit ca. 35 Jahren Aquarienerfahrung) für Aquascaping oder wenn man bestimmte Farben im Becken hervorheben möchte. Das ist zugegebenermaßen eine "Spielerei" aber es funktionier danach perfekt. Die Leuchtstärke mit 1500 Lumen ist super - so kann man die Lampe auch bei größeren Becken mit mehr Abstand von oben verwenden.Tipp 1: Wenn andere Aquarien mit anderer Beleuchtung im selben Raum oder in unmittelbarer Nähe des Beckens mit der Chihiros Leuchte steht das eingestellte Spektrum etwas "wirken" lassen. Ich war anfangs (nachdem zwei Becken mit Fluval-LEDs im selben Raum sind mit dem "anderen" Lichtspektrum etwas unzufrieden. Etwas wirken lassen (z.B. ein zwei Tage) und dann im Bedarfsfall neu einstellen. Die Gewohnheit lässt uns oft einen falschen Eindruck gewinnen.Tipp 2: Zuerst im manuellen Modus das gewünschte Lichtspektrum "erarbeiten" - erst danach die Automatisierung mit Sonnenauf- und Untergang einstellen. Das Abändern des Spektrums in einer bereits bestehenden Automatisierung ist mühsam und hier benötigt das App DRINGEND ein Update. Das haben andere Hersteller besser gelöst aber sowas ist einfach zu beheben und macht das Produkt nicht schlecht.Ich denke, das Chihiros momentan qualitativ und preis-/leistungstechnisch einer der besten Anbieter am Markt ist.

Great light unit and will be perfect for my needs, looks stylish too and feels good quality. Clips on really sturdy and the swivel means you can adjust the angle precisely and move it out the way for maintenance. Delivery was super quick, I'm glad it's available in the UK now!Whilst it was easy to put together I would have appreciated some in-box instructions. There was nothing instruction-wise so I had to check their setup video on YouTube.The app controls are cool and you can really fine tune things. However, whilst I don't agree that the app is a shambles that everyone says, it definitely needs some work. For instance if you set it on 'Buce' setting but want to reduce the overall intensity to 50% it doesn't seem to keep the ratios of the setting and instead R,G and B get set to 50% so it just looks white. You can adjust it yourself but it's unclear what your total % output is if you adjust one colour only. I also wish there was at least some basic controls on the unit itself without needing the app for quick use but oh well.Note that above a certain percentage the unit does get quite warm quickly.Overall pleased so far. I haven't 'used' it yet only turned it on and played around with it.
