Beautiful model
It's a challenging project to build but a beautiful model to display when it's done! As a flyer, I'd recommend nothing less than an Estes F15-4 (keep that ejection charge SHORT!) or else a composite motor. You will also need to modify the mounting point of the nosecone parachute to make a more robust connection. The chute will EASILY rip away from the flimsy nosecone mount if you stick to the directions, and you'll risk destroying the nose (ask me how I know, this is the SECOND of these models I had to buy here....guess why). Otherwise it's a pretty stable flyer with the proper nose weight, and you'll get a lot of fun out of the kit.

Long time to finish correctly, but awesome rocket
Took many many hours to build. The painting was the hardest part. Lot's of masking tricks to master. Decals was also a challenge. This kit is challenging and fun. Totally recommend it for experienced builders, but not so much for a beginner. The kit is labeled Master skill and rightfully so btw.

Not for amateurs
Carefully follow the directions. Seriously. It's huge. โRequires large size engine! Can be bought through seller.

Great model
Havenโt had time to build this yet but delivered on time and box is in excellent shape. Looks to be a great model! Very happy with the purchase

Large and somewhat flimsy due to lightweight BT-101 body tubes
Like all Estes kits they use very thin walled body tubes which make the final product very light and somewhat flimsy for me. The Saturn V/Skylab edition is not to be missed though as it is a limited edition and builds into an impressive model at 41". On a single use E or F motor this will fly well on a . The launch controller is only about $20 and is easily available. Center of gravity is unusually far back for a Estes rock and this will make dramatic liftoffs on an E or F motor. Nice to see Estes has some scale subjects out . Crew 3 per mission (9 total) Launch May 14, 1973 17:30:00
