Worked exactly as advertized, instructions were lacking
This worked perfectly and it absolutely is worth the money. Installation was straightforward and I had no issues except some of the more normal issues with installing a brand new fan into an old space. The only problem was the pairing process described in the app and the instructions were not complete. For SOME devices, you have to turn things off and on(multiple times, the bulbs for example). But this item doesn't have the same instructions.Another reviewer left the following and it worked perfect for me and I wanna include it here in case another person comes along and has the same issue. To put the device into "pairing mode" meaning ready to join the app, do the following:1. turn off power to the fan controller wait 5 seconds.(this means cut the power completely. If it's on a switch nearby just turn it off, if the fan isn't on a switch, you can also use the breaker the fan is on in a pinch)2. After you wait 5 seconds with everything off, turn power back on and press and hold the fan 0 button(Or if you want to say the fan off button) for 5 seconds the light(s)(not some hidden lights or anything, literally the lights that the fan has for illuminating the room are going to blink) on the fan will flash twice (its now in pairing mode)3. add it in the app

Works well, but there are a few things to know ahead of time.
If you ordered the SS-T28 (black remote, black receiver) system, read on. The system works well, but there were a few things to be aware of. As noted, the remote does not come with the battery. You'll need a CR2032 coin battery. Second, if you're installing more than one in close proximity, you'll need to follow the instructions on how to properly pair the remote with the receiver. The instructions are almost fully accurate, but leave out one very critical piece of information. Prior to pairing, you need to take the back cover off the remote and slide the pin from the unlocked to the locked position. Then turn off the fans you don't want to pair with (turn off the wall switch, assuming you have a wall switch, otherwise go to the circuit breaker). Then turn off the fan you do want to pair with for 5 seconds (again, using the wall switch), turn it back on with the wall switch, then push the "LEARN" button inside the back of the remote. Repeat this for every fan you want to install. The instructions left out the critical part about sliding the pin to the locked position. If the pin is in the default, unlocked position, the remote will pair, but it will also control multiple fans. And I suppose if you want one remote to control multiple fans, that's the way to do it. I emailed the email address in the instruction guide for support and they replied within 24 hours with exact instructions. So -1 for not having it in the manual and sending it in a default configuration that isn't as useful, but +1 for being quick to clarify.

Excellent retrofit.
This item was used to replace an original Hunter control unit from a decade ago. The original remote had poor range, no connectivity, and would randomly turn the fan on and off.The new controller and remote are excellent. The fan can now use and dim LED bulbs, works at a great range, and connects to Alexa very easily. The only downside is that the back of the remote is domed, so if you have it on a side table and push down, it tries to slip out from under your finger. It’s easier to actually pick it up rather than just stab the button with your index finger. Not a huge issue at all, just an observation. All in all, I bought three more to infuse my older but excellent fans with modern abilities.

Waste of money
Purchased this for a ceiling fan that we lost the remote for. The remote would not pair with the sensor and the fan side of the sensor does not work. Unfortunately I waited until after the 30 days to install this and find out it did not work so I can not send it back.

Nice replacement for my Hunter fan.
The light button on my hunter fan remote was dying. I called Hunter fan to try to get a replacement, but they said that they didn’t carry it any longer. They told me to go search online for a replacement. I found this one and gave it a try and it worked fine. I was hoping that I could just use the remote as a direct replacement, but that didn’t work. So I had to replace the wireless controller module that was included with the remote and it worked fine once I replaced it. Overall, it’s much cheaper than replacing the whole fan.

Really good product
This is a great remote control option for a ceiling fan. If you’re looking to improve on this product may be considered making the buttons glow in the dark. Overall I am pleased and will look for other products from this company to try and hopefully use.

Great concept, but the remote is very cheap and mine doesn't work well
Install went as well as any fan remote system goes. But the major issue I have is the remote. The light button only works if you press it hard and in a very specific manner. Clearly the underlying switch isn't place well or something else is wrong with it.If the manufacturer is monitoring this, please message me.. I'd like a replacement remote that works.
