I put up before and after photos, and the difference in what this stuff does is literally magical! I never even thought that the nicotine would come out of my dad's house! I use a pump spray bottle, the small one with the handle, it has a pump on top, and the sprayer is connected, I set it somewhere in between stream and a more wide spray, you don't have to use much, spray about a 2 x 2 area, use a flat broom like brush to spread it around, don't push too hard or let it sit and dry, just spread around so it can catch more spaces, then take a microfiber roller and roll it off - IT DISAPPEARS!!! My dad has that super thick popcorn texture, so we can't wipe it with a cloth, but if you don't have popcorn texture, you could just wipe it off. I use a painting multi tool to clean my roller, the rounded indented area is what I use to basically push all of the dirty chemical out over the sink, then I rinse the tool, dry it, and kind of gently go back the other way to fluff the roller back out so I can start over again. I use a 2foot roller that has the metal grips on both sides to hold it in place, and it soaks up everything! It deep cleans the walls to prep for paint, because nicotine oil is the worst! My dad had that house since 1965, and he smoked in it, his roommates did, and so did his girlfriends, for more than 50 years! This is the one that I highly recommend, I tried others, and they didn't cut it! Let it dry, use B-I-N Zinser "SHELLAC" primer to hold in any extra nicotine, when that dries, paint your color on, no bleeding, no smell. I used to go see my dad and be there for 5 minutes at times to drop off food, or anything, and when I would leave, my clothes smelled like I was the lifelong smoker! Now, people can't even tell anyone smoked in the house! It's magic I tell ya, MAGIC!

We used this to clean baseboards, doors, and trim before painting our laundry room. It worked well enough. I don't know that I can tell that it made a huge difference in overall adhesion, but it did help get a good surface. We had sanded heavily with a rough and a find grit, but not all the way to bare wood. This worked well to clean the trim to the point where I could see a difference in the trim not yet sanded to bare wood. Overall the product worked as expected. It does say to wear chemical-resistant gloves, and I can attest to that. I tore my gloves when I first got ready to apply and just went ahead without gloves. While not a full chemical burn, I could definitely tell that I had chemicals on my hands for quite a while afterward. So, moral of the story, use gloves when recommended.

This is an amazing cleaner! I put it in a gallon size sprayer so I could handle it with ease. I am remodeling my office, which, was smoked in for 13 years. The nicotine stains are dissolving off the wall. This is going to make it so much easier to paint! I have to order more to complete this room and my kitchen which has grease stains. I am also going to use it full strength to clean my custom gutters!

I'm re-doing all of the honey oak in our house. So to prep the wood to take the gel stain I first quickly sand to break some of the gloss up. I then mix according to directions the proper ratio for this cleaner and put it in a spray bottle. I spray it on to soak the wood and let it sit for a couple of minutes. The rag tells the story of how it's working and when all is said and done you can tell that 95% of the gloss is gone. I have never had to do sanding down to the wood to get it to work right or for the gel stain to take properly to the wood. I will buy this to use again. The only downside is the smell - it's not a pleasant smell but I wasn't expecting anything great - it's a heavy duty cleaner folks. For the amount of time that it's used I wouldn't make this a criteria for using the product or not. I will say that i did not notice that the smell stayed with the wood after cleaning - the smell was gone after the final wipe down with water.
