This review is for Wanderings Leather Watercolor Scrapbook Journal - Large Genuine Leather Album with Handmade Deckle Edge Paper for Scrapbooks, Watercolor, Albums - 10x12.5" - 350 GSMI would not recommend the paper in this book to those accustomed to watercolor painting on Arches, Fabriano, or Canson Heritage. The recycled cotton paper handles exceedingly differently. It takes a good bit of time to acclimate to the difference. That stated, it is a lovely, well-crafted book. I am learning to work with the unusual properties of this paper. It is, at times, overwhelmingly frustrating and other times, very enjoyable.If you've read this far, I will take this opportunity to write that I would welcome a book of this size and craftsmanship made with CP 140lb/300gsm Arches. Is that too much to ask?

This book is stunning. I was looking for a nice watercolor travel journal and thought this was ideal. Then it arrived. And I realized that it is actually huge and very heavy, and really not ideal as a travel watercolor journal. However, what a pleasant surprise to discover just how stunningly beautiful this piece of craftsmanship is. It arrived in a beautiful, sturdy antique map box and wrapped in a black canvas bag. While it may be too big and heavy to use for travel, it will definitely be used and cherished. If you're looking for a nice gift for the watercolor artist in your life, this would be a good one.
