This is an excellent piece of equipment, especially for the price. I used it to make an overhead copy stand that allows precise focus control using an old tripod head, a chunk of 2 x 8, and a piece of rod. The gears are very smooth, it's all metal, and it locks. This is excellent for macro photography.Edit...I agree with others who say it needs another mount point. So I took it apart and added one. You can't add one in the center because the adjustment gear is there. I drilled a 1/4" hole near the top. The plate is too thin to thread securely, so I JB Welded a 1/4" nut inside. I also added a square of rubber drawer liner to the mount surface. It now mounts where I wanted it to, and the camera is secure and protected from scratches. Perfection!

Es buen riel, tiene buena movilidad aunque a veces me cuesta trabajo avanzar poco a poco. No hay una guía milímetrica con cuál poder avanzar, trate de ponerle una aguja como indicador. El material es excelente y el deslizamiento es bueno. Es un poco pesado pero funciona.

100% metal, pesado y robusto. Lo utilizo para fotografia con lente de microscopio. Los 2 tornillos que permiten el desplazamiento a lo largo de los 2 ejes funcionan suavemente y, sólo en apariencia, tienen una pequeña holgura (como ha comentado algún cliente). Y digo en apariencia porque existen otros 2 tornillos superutiles que se utilizan para ajustar la resistencia al desplazamiento en los carriles ya que llevan una gomita que ajusta el frenado. Esta resistencia la puedes ajustar al máximo si quieres que no sea posible desplazarse accidentalmente (o por efecto de la gravedad) o puedes ajustarla solo un poco para que el desplazamiento sea algo más trabajoso eliminando asi totalmente las holguras. En resumen, para mi gusto es perfecto.

I was trying to use it for focus stacking. Had to teach myself about the screws and stuff in the beginning, but it works like a charm once you get used to it.
