Absolutely works with a larger monitor
There are lot of other reviews which talk about the weight, the different type of Loctek products and how they all work. I’m strictly focusing on the tilting here and the clamp to help others who may second guess themselves or need some help.So I have a Samsung C49HG90 which is a 49” super widescreen curve monitor and weight 33 lbs. The Loctek Heavy Duty mount weight max capacity is 33 lbs so I was at the maximum there, its size requirement is 10-34” and my monitor screen size is 49”; so I had a lot of hesitation and worries before making the purchase. But I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research to give myself some hope. In my case I had 2 major issues:1) I had a glass top desk (Whalen Jasper L-Desk). It wasn’t 1” thick so the clamp didn’t fit, and I couldn’t drill since it was a glass top. I had to think through this before giving up. I went to Lowe’s by my house and purchase a piece of wood which I cut to the dimension which would fit under my desk to allow the clamp to hit it and it worked! I had to be creative to hide the piece of the wood under the desk since you can see through the glass. Lesson learned here is to make sure to check your desk thickness to avoid any headache.2) The tilting, oh gosh it was a real pain. It took me 2 hours with the help of my wife to get this thing right. The monitor would not stay up. But also, one of the issues was the lack of clear direction on how to get the tilt to properly stay upright and not tilt down. There are two bolts located under near the end of the VESA part which screw to the monitor. The trick is to make sure to loosen up both bolts all the way, then tilt the monitor up right while holding it and much higher than you would like it to be positioned. It’s critical you do it that way; specially if you have a heavy and large monitor as mine. Then, tighten the bolts, but not all the way super tight. Slowly let it go, you can see the monitor slowly tilting down, hold it/stop it, and keep tighten up again. As you continue with patience, you will be able to land the monitor to the tilting position that fit your eyesight. Again, exude patience and you will be fine.Overall, I really like this mount and do recommend it 100%. You just must be patient and confirm you have the right specs to fit your own environment. It looks nice and expensive. It’s well built, plus it gives me that flexibility to be able to move it to the position I like, specially while gaming plus it gives me more space on the desk.

Great monitor arm. Great for thick desks. There is an undocumented fix for rotation issue.
Excellent quality monitor arm. Installation was straightforward. All tools needed for installation are includedIt was hard for me to find a monitor arm that supports my desk thickness of 4 3/8", but the clamp option with this arm says it supports up to 4.7". I can confirm that it does.My ultrawide monitor (Dell Alienware AW3418DW) is just over 16 pounds. I ordered the D7L monitor arm model, so the weight was on the lower end of the weight range. Because of this I did have to make considerable adjustments to the tension with the included allen wrench, but it wasn't a big deal and I am able to adjust height easily now.FOR THOSE WITH ISSUES WITH THE MONITOR ROTATION DRIFTING TO THE RIGHT:After completing installation, I did find that I was having the same problem as others where the vertical rotation tended to drift to the right side, so the monitor was not completely level when looking at it. To solve this problem you have to use the allen wrench to adjust the bolt that is in the center of the VESA plate that attaches to the monitor. You are unable to do this with the monitor attached, so make sure you tighten it BEFORE attaching the monitor to the arm. Once I removed the monitor and did this, the monitor is now able to stay completely level. The adjustment of the bolt to fix this issue was not documented anywhere in the instructions that I could find. Loctek might save themselves some headaches by adjusting their included documentation to show this.

Mostly good, would buy again.
This is a nice solid monitor arm and I would not hesitate to buy it again fora large monitor.Likes:1: Nice solid build.2: Easy to assemble.3: Audio , Mic and USB port of the front is a nice touch.Nit Picking:1: If your monitor is at the lower end of the weight range you will need to adjust the gas spring substantially ( 30 plus turns ) before it will go up and down properly ( and not spring back up ).2: The forward and back tilt is stiff ( it works but it is stiff ). If you loosen the adjustment screws too much it sags forward when you let go after adjusting it. When set to stay in position the process of tilting the screen feels very forced. I have an older Ergotech on a Mac and that one tilts nice and easy....so....minor design flaw.....

Yes, works with LG C1 48"!
Paired with a VESA mounting plate to match C1, the mount is extremely sturdy and holds the monitor without straining at all. Swivel, extension, rotation all EXCELLENT. Tilt requires 2 hands, however I havent tried to loosen the tilting since I have no intentions of tilting the screen once set. When first mounting it, the TV would rotate on its own. UH OH! I double checked instructions and there is NO mention of adjusting rotation tension. I removed the TV and found a bolt in the center of the mount. Merely tightened it, and viola! It works GREAT.If it weren't for the rotation, installing it would be less than 30 mins. I kept the TV on the stand the whole time, connected the mount to desk, then toi TV, unscrewed the stand from TV, tightened height tension to 80%, and done. Didnt even have to lift the TV!I absolutely see NO point in spending $300+ on the Ergo. It cant work better since this one is flawless. Plus I have a thick desk at 4.5 inches and couldn't use Ergo. At $90, its fantastic. Yes you can raise and extend FULLY with no issue and confidence.Everyone complaining about that "plastic piece" that's broken? Mine was fine, but couldn't care less. It's the cover to hide the cable in the BACKSIDE of the clamp. Who is going to see it???Nevertheless, holding the LG C1 48" TV without effort, glide, rotates, swivels, extends, all without flinching, is a beautiful thing. I'm convinced those that say it doesn't hold tilt, either have a defect, or don't know to install (the instructions could be a tad better). Just tighten the bolt with the supplied allen key!

Good quality!
I have my 49" monitor on this... it does seem to struggle under the weight, but its coping well! Absolutely love the fluid movement, adjustability and easy set up! It feels good quality and looks the part too. If it sits too long in the same spot it is a bit stiff to move initially, but I assume thats because of the heavy weight I have it under. Great value for the price! Would buy again

Would have been 5 stars but...
I bought a cheaper one before this one. The cost was about $100 less, but it was promptly returned due to performance / quality issues. I received this one earlier than expected, set up was a breeze, and the functionality is smooth. It works perfectly with my 27 inch iMac. If I had to find a fault, it’s that they should have included more USB 3 port over the mic and headphone jack. This configuration feels a tad outdated, and the headphone jack cuts off your system audio, even without headphones plugged in, so I just leave it disconnected. It’s not the end of the world but that space could definitely have been put to better use. Oh and it’s not really a "hub", it’s just cables that extent to iMac... who uses a 8th inch mic jack anymore? I don’t know. That being said, I bought it to suppor the Mac, which it does smoothly and effortlessly after a little bit of tweaking. You can control the resistance at every point of articulation, to the point where I can literally move this thing around with one hand. It’s a great product, and I’m glad I decided to spend a little extra. It would be prefect if they did something about the antiquated ports at the base... but on the other hand they were just there as a bony anyway.
