UniFi Dream Machine Pro (UDM-Pro)

If you already have Ubiquiti equipment, you know what you are dealing with. This is a great option for the central player of your network. But still there are a number of limitations that I personally do not understand and do not like. You do not have direct access to the HDD, for example, to make backups from it, you cannot configure backup settings for external services. The most important thing is the lack of POE power at the output, therefore you will need to buy a POE power supply or a router with this function. It is not as flexible in settings as Mikrotik products, but on the other hand, it is very user friendly. Setting up everything is very simple and will not create problems. And of course, if you want to use other Ubiquiti products, UAP-Pro is ready for that. All in one. *UPD 17.08.22* After almost a year, I have something to add. In short, I finally decided not to invest in the products of this company anymore. After 6 months, I started having problems with the adoption of the device, I solved them for a long time and painfully, as a result, I had to reset all the settings and do everything again. SFP+ is unstable and sometimes you need to restart the system. One of the ports began to work only in 100Mb mode and I do not know what to do with it. Wi-Fi works fine, but in the future I will continue to build a network only on MikroTik products, they are much more flexible in configuration and much more stable in operation.

In my office recently switched to unifi APs, had issues with sonicwall being very unrealable and slow. As soon as I plugged this in and spent 10 minutes configuration. Never touched it since, sends me alerts if there's any issues, one stop solution for small/mid sized office to control the network. However cheaper than many home based solutions by sonicwall or fortinet

Superb product, easy setup for those with some knowledge of wifi, routing and firewall. Does require a little knowledge but plenty of youtube videos that can help with setup.

I have had issues with my wifi in our house for some time now. I spoke to our IT crowd at work and they told me to go with Ubiquity. It seemed pricey but they were insistent it was the way to go. MAN I wish I did this earlier. The products are so well made, they’re clean and very easy to setup. The Dreammachine Pro is all set up within minutes from your phone via Bluetooth. The analytics are great from the machine and the wireless AP’s are fantastic. Everything can be managed from either your phone or the super smooth web gui. You can even turn the annoying LED’s off on the AP’s via the same gui. The WAN connection to your isp is done within 30 seconds and the wifi is back up in a similar timeframe. The only Con I consider is the price. They are expensive but they are worth it.

Configurado en 1,5 minutos, es cierto que llevo tiempo con Unifi, pero es muy sencillo. Conectado con Movistar en modo neutro y va que da gusto. El firewall a tope no da problemas de cuello de botella, conectado con el 10G SFP+ y no falla.

This thing definitely earns the name "Dream Machine". I have been in IT for a while now and have never had a more pleasant, easy, or trouble free experience getting a network appliance configured and up and running than this device. It was truly a surprising and refreshing experience. Finding some of the stuff in the UI can take a bit of searching, but once done it's easy. This thing is powerful and does way more than I bargained for. It has a built in IPS (off by default, comes on with the simple toggle of a setting) with geo blocking capabilities (goodbye Russia and China), unifi WAP support, easy to use and powerful app, and support for both client and server VPN capabilities (and you can run both at the same time). This thing has the same capabilities and features of routers from other brands that cost thousands more, and then some. It's definitely a bargain and a half at this price. It's responsive, I've had no lag, and it's really quiet compared to my other switch. I now see why pretty much every IT colleague I've spoken with that has used unifi swears by them and loves them. I think I've become a fan for life and am going to investigate some of their other devices like WAPs. The noise you hear in the video is my server. You can't hear the UniFi!
