Very bright lights
This Portable lantern is great, it’s very bright, I like that you can remove each light pad , put on in your cellar, in your vehicle , always a good idea for the home , I have 4 of the larger size , You wouldn’t be going wrong at getting as many as you want, plus there’s a bonus... on the top of the lantern you can charge your cell phone if your out of power.

1 year review from a grumpy dad who is grudgingly impressed.
I might have an addiction to flashlights. At least my wife says so. Whatever. Let's go with brevity here.Cons: takes D cell batteries. Old school alkaline D cells. Rechargeables do not reach a high enough voltage (1.25 vs 1.5 volts) to properly recharge the removeable flashlight panels. Also, it's typical Coleman plastic. IE cheap feeling but a bit tougher then you would suspect by the cheap feel of it. Faint praise intended.Pros: Works like you are hoping it works. Maybe better if you are a pessimist like me. Most importantly to a internet expert like me (got the photoshopped degree to prove it) is that the batteries do not die down from sitting. Lots of things to go wrong with this setup that would cause a slow batterie drain but it doesn't. Not saying yours wont, but mine doesn't.So much for brevity huh? don't blame me, you are the one still reading this.

Great light and a great MOD host
For a 4 x D light it is pretty bright and small. Works well. 2 levels are bright enough. And makes the batteries last.ON button is sometimes hard to find in the dark.Would be nice to have a POWER button glow mode.Made a modification to be able to use rechargeable batteries and charge them in the unit So you don’t have to take them out that works good using solar panel in the sun.Or trickle charge the batteries while the light is in use.Over a great light for a battery host mod.

Funtional
I like that you can disconnect two panels and they have magnets on them. Mine came with a broken battery lid but Coleman quickly replaced with a new unit.I will make a nice addition to camp lighting.Keep in mind that this is not USB chargeable like I originally thought. I misread it.

Cheapo rechargeable batteries were unusable upon delivery. Returned.
This unit uses cheap, crappy bottom shelf rechargeable batteries for the removable panels. Upon delivery, they wouldn't take a charge. Dead on arrival. An otherwise excellent lantern, if you buy it you'll be spending $20-25 to replace the rechargeable batteries. Returned for a refund.
