Perfect, except one thing.
The shaver is excellent. It shaves much faster than my previous Phillips that I had for about 12 years. The shave is clean and fast.Cleaning is more difficult than my previous version. I was using alcohol and cotton balls to clean the previous one, but the way this one is made, I can't reach some parts that need cleaning. I tried Q-tips, but that doesn't reach either. I can only rinse the best I can with water, but that doesn't get all of the hair particles. It won't build up too bad as long as you keep rinsing it, but I would like to clean it completely. And if I had to nitpick, the pop-out trimmer isn't stable when you pop it out. It doesn't lock into place. You have to sort of hold it in place while you trim, or hold the shaver in a certain way.All in all, I still give it 5 stars for its fast and clean shave.

Norelco customer for life
I have to be clean shaven for work, and I have to shave every day, and I grow a beard as fast as anyone can. I started with a Norelco in about 1997. That one lasted until around 2010 I think, when I purchased an 8400 as a replacement. That one still works now, but I purchased this new one to have a second at work so I wouldnt need to carry it back and forth to work. This shavers just work and work and last and last. You should plan on it being useful for 10 years or more. Compared to the cost of use against razors it wins hugely, and the convenience is second to none. I can shave sitting in my car in traffic, and I NEVER have a cut to deal with.

Outstanding shaver
I've had this one for over 5 years. No problems at all. Face is baby smooth after shave. Battery life has been about 10 days before needing a recharge.

Good shaver - especially for the price.
I no longer shave with a blade in the shower and use this daily - dry. It works pretty well but is not as close as a blade, but close enough for all but formal events and special occasions. I've had this for maybe 6 months, use it daily on light to medium facial hair and rarely charge it - twice since I've owned it. I have no real problems with it, but wish it shaved a bit closer, wish it was a wet/dry shaver, and wish it was a tad smaller so it would be practical for travel/ Those are not complaints as the product is exactly as designed and marketed. I take off one start because the product feels somewhat cheaply made. I have no reason to believe it will not last, but the feel in the hand is impressive. I do recommend this for someone wanting an, admittedly, low cost full size shaver. Now that I'm bought in to the electric shave, I will be buying one of their higher priced models.

Fantastic razor for the money. Who knew?
A great razor for twice this price. I have had this razor now for a month. I do not have a heavy thick beard but is old tough hair. This razor cuts it wonderfully well. The best electric that I have had. This is fourth electric I believe and I would buy it again. It did take several hours to charge and to recharge it but it lasts a good long time once charged. Does it cut as close as a blade? No, but it cuts very close and looks as good. Easy to clean. Open it up and shake the residue out and tap it gently in the trash can. Rinse with hot water and allow it to dry. Good to go. I recommend this razor and would buy again.

My favorite brand of razor isn't what it used to be
I bought one of these 3 and a half years ago from Amazon. I have liked Norelco razors since I started using one in the 90s or 80s, but the quality of them has gradually gone down. If I didn't buy another one from a brick-and-mortar store in the interim, this one took over 3 years to need a replacement for the usual reason - death of the battery you can't replace. So I'm online shopping for the replacement razor. This brand has always given me a better shave than other electric razors I've tried. The parts have gone from metal to plastic over the years, what you used to disassemble to clean has become one piece, charge indicator lights have largely disappeared, and the batteries die often enough that I just want one with a light that shows me it's charging, a pop-up trimmer, and the ability to clean it easily. This was it.I would actually get another one of these today. But it's going for about $90 at the moment, though, a similar possibly-newer model is going for $70, and one with 3 charge indicator lights - something I've missed for several iterations of the lower-end Norelco razors - is going for $80. I'll probably buy that one. I've had at least a few of the models with a green light that blinks then goes off while you're charging and otherwise does nothing until the razor dies, so I wind up charging regularly when it feels like the motor is running more weakly. I don't remember the actual colors, but I miss having a green-yellow-red system and will probably try that $80 model this time for that feature. And be back for another razor in a year or 2 or 3 when the battery dies. It's like cell phones. If the batteries were replaceable, and I can't remember if they were 25 years ago, these things would last forever with just new batteries and replacement heads when blades got dull.I look at it as I'm paying $2 or $3 a month to shave, depending how long the razor lasts. If money is a concern, they all shave similarly, they all die before you'd want them to, and when I was younger and had a lower income I'd just get whichever model was cheapest at Walmart. At the moment it looks like the 3500 model is essentially the same as this one and $20 less.

Great Replacement
I had a Norelco before and it lasted about 12-15 years and this one feels the same and is even easier to clean. I think the shave quality is similar but the holding cavity is larger and it seems to charge quicker. Overall I'd buy another in a second. Careful though - there are lots of look-a-likes that are definitely not the same.

No. No. No.
Bought it for my Personal Care Assts to use as a safety razor on my legs. One has to work so hard to remove the hairs. Have to go over and over and over the same spot. Meanwhile it's taking off a layer of skin or two in the process. Still left with stubble.. and It started ripping cutting skin. Left with the worst case of razor burn I've ever had. The casing is a very flimsy plastic too. I expect a few drops to the floor or tub floor and it would be history. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! I'd give a minus 5 If I could.
