Cracking nut crackers
These are great nutcrackers they work well on hazelnuts as well at walnuts. Easy to use and don’t crush the nuts to bits.

Easy to use but doesn't crack all nuts
It is very easy to use, although disappointing that it does not crack all types of nuts as my old style traditional nut crackers did!

Works well enough, but quite flimsy
Works on all nuts far better than any other nutcraker I have had previously, but it is not as sturdy as advertised. The metal spring was not 'fixed' so flew out in during the first time of using. Not been seen since. Maybe it should come with 5 replacement springs, as they do make it easier to use. Minimal cost to them and far more convenience to the customer.

Came appart on the third occasion it was used.
It was great until the cutting part came off. Not sturdy enough. No instructions to explain what the other items were intended for.

Perfect Chestnuts Without Cutting Fingers
I boil chestnuts in salt water for 40 minutes. I used to cook them in the oven but I'm finding I like the boiled taste just as well and it is easier as they won't burn. But before you can cook them, they need to be pierced so they don't explode and it needs to be done in such a way that as they cook, the outer skin curls back to make them easier to peel. Traditionally, either the single cross-slit or the "X" cut was made with a sharp or serrated knife, which is hard to do while holding a little curved nut with a smooth shell. This nutcracker makes it much faster, easy, and much safer! Position the nut in the middle of the cracker, and press down hard enough to crack the skin. Don't worry about doing it too hard, it won't spoil the nut. Then cook.I love chestnuts. I wish they were available all year long. They are a very healthy, tasty, filling, and digestible food. I usually wind up just eating them after cooking, but I've also put them into soups and made vegetarian patties and spreads with them. Two more chestnut hints while I'm at it: if you buy them and can't cook them immediately, store them in water in a container in the refrigerator (or a cool place) so they don't dry out. After you cook and peel the chestnut, fuzzy skin may remain on the chestnut and this also is best to peel off. It is not poisonous, and in some varieties of chestnut, not unpleasant to eat; but it is a tough texture and in most varieties of chestnut, it is bitter. A long thin metal tool comes packaged with this nutcracker and it is useful for peeling off the skin. If the skin is badly stuck, a short simmer in fresh water will help to loosen.I'm going to be purchasing more of these to give as gifts to the friends I know enjoy chestnuts as much as I do.

best thing I’ve ever bought, way easier than the knife. Totally worth it.
