Q: Is there any segment of ducting that comes through the wall into the inside or is this only the vent cover for the outside?

There is a short section of round metal (maybe 3-4 inches long) to which your ductwork can be attached.

Q: What size hole needs to cut in the wall for this to fit through?

This is for a 6” ducting so at a minimum, cut 6” diameter hole, up to 6 ½” diameter to have a little extra room to maneuver it. The last piece of exhaust duct on the interior will attach to shutter vent. It should then be secured in place on the outside (by way of 4screws) and on the inside. Also, on the interior side stuff some fiberglass insulation around the entire hole to block air from penetrating. On the outside, finally, apply some clear or white caulk (exterior waterproof- possibly with silicone. Either way, outdoor caulk. And dab the four screws with a little as well as around the entire perimeter of the shutter (thin bead of caulk, and with a finger smooth it). Let dry overnight before painting

Q: Can you disassemble this to add a mesh screen behind the louvers?

It does not come apart, however, I lifted the louvers and drilled a hole in each corner, then I was able to carefully slip a piece of screen behind the louvers and screw it down - using washers between the screws and the screen. It looked quite professional when it was finished.

Q: What are the flap dimensions?

Flap dimensions are about 2.5 x 6.5 inches, but since they overlap, the area where the flaps swing is about 6.5x6.5 inches.
