Good USB 3.0 4 ports for the front.
This worked out well for me. This is a 3.5" front panel 4 port USB 3.0 hub. It required a couple of other parts to make it work in my computer with my particular case and motherboard. I needed the 3.5" to 5.25" mounting bracket StarTech 3.5-Inch to 5.25-Inch Floppy Mounting Kit Bracket (Black Plastic) and the USB card with a internal connection http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005HVPYNU which also gives 3 more ports on the back of the computer. Everything works as it should. Requires a SATA power connection from your power supply.

The wife wanted USB 3.0, so I got it for her!
I went with a USB 3.0 upgrade on my computer, nice! Then I told my wife, she wanted one. Nice trick Amazon has to track your orders. I found my order, just reordered everything. It sure is easy to hand my dollars over to Amazon, but then that's the point. Why would I go anywhere else!As for the USB 3.0 EZ to install, works fast, wife s happy, that's the point!

Dead on Arrival (DOA)
Dead on Arrival (DOA). It worked for about 30 seconds where one of those indicator lights lit up, after that the indicator didn't and the computer never saw any devices and yes it was plugged in to a USB 3.0 port on my computer that other devices worked in before and after this broken front facing hub.

!!!!!Requires a SATA power connection!!!!!!
And they don't supply one. If you don't have a free one in the computer, that is long enough to reach half way into the bay, you will be trying to find one. Most of the big box stores don't carry the cable. I just got my adapter cable, (through Amazon). I've had the hub for a week and haven't even installed it because of the power cable. If this isn't updated, then assume the hub works for me. If I have other issues, I will update.

Good product but difficult to get running
I've been using this for over a month and I've installed it twice in that time. Once in my old computer and then again in my new system. It was difficult for me to get the correct drivers sot that it would operate the first time. Now, on my new computer, I don't remember exactly what I did and have not had time to troubleshoot/research so it's not currently working. It does however work as a good charger for my phone :-/

Good USB 3.0 front panel 4 port hub for front access
I lke the internal 4 port hub rather than external. Combined with a rear-mounted hub, it gives me 7 USB 3.0 connections. It works well, was easy to install. I do want to utilize the power capability but am having a bit of a fuss finding the proper SATA power cable.

Works well, but internal mounting may be difficult
The front panel works well. I plug in my USB 3.0 external hard drives and transfer rates are noticeably faster, about 2 - 4X, than using USB 2.0 ports. My only issue was that it was a bit difficult to attach solidly into my internal drive bay. That's probably more an issue with my desktop case than with this hub, but it would seem that StarTech could pay more attention to how to get it properly screwed into in common desktops cases like Dell's, since this is an aftermarket accessory.

Much faster than USB 2.0
No more waiting hours and hours to move a few gigabytes. And the convenience of having the ports on the front. I attached this to a StarTech internal 3.0 pci adapter. This has been in service for a while and works fine on a five years old desktop. I have it in a bay that was intended for a floppy disk drive. The only problem is that it doesn't fit snugly enough. So it tends to move around a little bit when inserting plugs. I will blame this on the case. It seems all the cases now do not allow mounting screws to be used. Instead making you try to slide the drive into vaguely located slot, then try to line it up so turning those plastic knobs will hopefully keep it from falling out. Was that supposed to be an improvement? What was so hard about very infrequently having to take off the other side cover and thread in a couple of screws?

Wenn man was außergewöhnliches braucht.
