Aroma Designs Wooden Essential Oil Box Multi-Tray Organizer

(See UPDATE at end)I have had a lot of experiences with online shopping and MANY with Amazon over the years. I have to say that my experience with this purchase was one of the most gratifying I have had ever. Let me tell you why. First of all, I BOUGHT THIS AS A PURCHASE BY A REGULAR CUSTOMER WITH NO DISCOUNT OR FREE OFFER AT ALL. This review is entirely as a customer paying full price.WHAT IS THIS BOX LIKE?When I sent for my box, I was so thrilled to get it. The shipping time was shockingly fast and I opened it to find a problem. I contacted the seller right away and after documenting the problem, the situation was taken care of IMMEDIATELY. What a pleasant and wonderful seller to deal with. I do not say that lightly. I would deal with him again in a heartbeat.So, now to the box. The box is about 10 inches high, 8 1/2 inches wide, and 7 1/4 inches deep when closed. The drawer in the bottom has wood dividers in it but these are GLUED DOWN. These slots inside are for roller balls. I have seen that it was marked for 10ml bottles, but I have some 15ml bottles from Doterra which fit in here just fine. The tops of the bottles will face the BACK of the drawer, just so you know. The drawer will have to be pulled out to see what you have in the back row.The top two shelves in this unit have room for regular bottles of oil in them. They will NOT fit 30ml bottles, so please be aware of that. The dividers in these two top shelf boxes will come out, they are not glued down. All brands of essential oils fit in there fine for me 5ml-15ml bottles from doterra, to Young Living, to NOW, to Aura Cacia to Edens Garden (and a few off brands I have as well).The hinges on the sides, hold up the shelf, and the back hinges are decent. The front clasp does hold the case shut nicely.HOW DOES THIS CASE PERFORM FOR ME?I have to say that this is just as nice as I was hoping it would be. For the price, I would say it is spectacular. It has a much smaller footprint than the other huge flat wooden cases, so you can set it almost anywhere to look at it.One thing that I want you to be aware of is that you HAVE to have the drawer in place, preferably loaded with roller ball bottles to keep the case from tipping over if you open it. It will be top heavy if you don't, then it will start to tip over.When loading up the case, make sure that you load the MIDDLE drawer FIRST. Then leave the top drawer for last. That will assure you that the case will stand upright no matter what. If you get that in mind and keep your empty slots on the top shelf always, it will make it easier on you.I have also found that there is room for a pamphlet or two, or folded label stickers to be in the top of the cover when closed.WILL 5/8 DRAM BOTTLES FIT IN THE COMPARTMENTS?I know, it is probably silly to some people, but one question I never saw answered was if the tiny 2ml bottles will fit in the compartment. Well, I have good news for you. You can fit 4 of them in MOST compartments but occasionally only 3 will fit in one of them due to slight variation in size. I have also successfully put two layers in some compartments so there are up to 8 of those tiny 2ml bottles in each. Keep in mind if you jostle your case around, they could end up moving around some. If worse comes to worse you can take out the dividers of you have a hard time getting one of them ever. I tend to keep those on the top level.ONE THING I WISH WAS DIFFERENTI am going to make a carrying handle for this. Some people just leave their case on a dresser or desk and it does not move. This is perfect for that. However, if you need to be on the move with your essential oil collection, the drawer is NOT stationary so it will be a bit difficult to transport. I am deciding if I want to just make a latch for the drawer and then put a handle on the unit, or if I want to make a wrap handle for the entire box to support it all well and keep the drawer shut at the same time.THE BOTTOM LINEIf you love essential oils and need to have your collection easy to access, without a whole lot of table space, this is a perfection solution, It can carry up to 20ml bottles in certain shapes, but will not fit 30ml bottles. The roller ball section will hold up to 15ml bottles. This case is the nicest case I have come across for essential oils to carry the most in the least amount of space. If you are concerned about the seller, don't be. This seller is one of the best of the best, and I mean that. I have not come across this great of a seller in a long time. Buy with confidence from him.I give this five stars. It is one of my favorite purchases all year, and perhaps even in many years. I really love this box. I plan to finish it with linseed oil or other similar finish as the wood grain is rather attractive on it.UPDATE 2-16-17I wanted to take a moment to update this review. Since I wrote this review, I have had the opportunity to order several more of these storage organizers. I have been very pleased each time. The quality was decent, no broken parts, and all hinges and clasps work great. I love that the footprint is smaller because I can fit more oils using less tabletop/shelf space. I am really really happy with these and the price is wonderful. The seller also was very good to take care of the problem I had the first time I ordered and the broken piece was replaced promptly. Great seller!I rave about these boxes almost daily They have made my essential oil collection easy to organize and separate out from singles, blends, kid friendly, and custom mixes. I flip open the box, take what I need, and then quickly use them and put them back. MUCH easier to use than my one level larger box that I only use for storage now.

This is a phenomenal value and the craftsmanship is pretty good for an unfinished pin box. few rough edges here and there easily taken care of with a touch of fine sandpaper.The reason I wrote this review is to give a heads up that 15 ml bottles fit as advertised --- everywhere but in the back row of the top tray.++++With 15 ml bottles the lid does not close as the tops of the bottles jam into the inside of the lid++++I tried to push it down a bit and heard a crack of wood so went no further. Note that 10 ml bottles fit just fine, but I just have 15ml ones so it is annoying! This is the only reason I don't give it 5 stars. Even if I had some 10 ml bottles I'd still like to organize by type of oil and not the size of the bottle. If the manufacturer would add just a quarter inch to the height of the box top, it would be just enough to get it closed. Note also that rubber top droppers do not work in this box at all. Not enough clearance.I have no need for the 10 oz roller ball drawer, but I was easily able to dislodge the dividers even though it was VERY lightly glued and not meant to come out. I now use this empty drawer for a few 4 oz bottles I have along with a handful of droppers and pipettes. (also works for two 8oz plus one 4oz glass bottle).

Let me start by saying I just recently started collecting essential oils, before 2016 started I maybe had 2 essential oils, now I have around 23! I quickly realized that I needed a place to house them all because keeping a couple here and there was not working. I looked on Etsy for a box and found a couple that I liked but the price was too high...I looked on essential oil sites and found more but either the price was too high or the boxes carried only 15-20 oils. Then finally I took to Amazon and ran across this box! I was pleased to see that I can buy even more essential oils since I would still have room to grow. I also loved the design of the box. Very few boxes offered a layered carrying approach. Most essential oil boxes were one single layer meaning the amount of counter space taken up would be substantial. So after waiting a couple days to make sure I wanted to go ahead and purchase I did. The price is on point. It was delivered quickly and safely. Honestly my only complaint is what a few others have mentioned in their comments: the wood is unfinished. The appearance left me feeling like it is mass produced and there is no time to make sure the product is perfect for the customer. Therefore due to the cosmetic flaws I can only give this product 4 stars. I think if a little extra time went into making the wood smooth and the boards holding the oils in place straight it would definitely be worth 5 stars. I already asked my husband if he could "clean it up" for me and possibly engrave or etch a design into the box to give it more character. I would also love to have seen this box be able to carry 1 oz bottles!
