Awesome Laptop!
I'm very particular and specific about what I need in a new laptop, as the average life of one of my laptops is 8 years. This was the only product I could find that checked all of my boxes and still came in at what I consider to be a reasonable price point. I am thoroughly enjoying this laptop. I love the ray tracing capabilities of the GeForce RTX 2060, and the laptop itself, while much lighter than my previous, feels quite sturdy. I use it as more of a desktop replacement than an actual laptop, having it connected to 4 external monitors and other peripherals, so battery life is not a big concern for me. The NVMe SSD is super fast. I did take out 1 8 GB SODIMM and replaced it with a 32 GB SODIMM giving me 40GB. So far, I've only pushed a 31 GB commit charge, so I have some room to grow, and when I need to I can replace the other 8 GB SODIMM with another 32 GB.

Amazing gaming laptop with one flaw - anemic speakers. (compared with last gen Predator)
I bought this after returning the smaller 15 inch Predator variant with exact same specs. I found the keyboard a bit too constraining, and desired a larger screen. This 17 inch is glorious. Keyboard is no longer cramped with ample bezels along the sides, the screen is reportedly slightly better than the one sourced for the 15 inch variant also. I have the 2060 version, would have preferred a 2070 but didn't want to wait any longer. The build quality on this is very good. Minimal keyboard flex, surprisingly sturdy screen hinges and lid (minimal flex for a 17 inch) and a review I read said the larger chassis even helps with thermals vs the 15 inch so that is a bonus if it turns out to be the case. Screen is plenty bright enough and is IPS - mine had slightly less light bleed than the 15, but YMMV.Only flaw is the speakers. Coming from a 2017 Predator 15 inch, the speakers on this gen are AWFUL. My Moto phone goes louder and fuller. Also they dropped the Dolby program and went with DTS which is much, much worse.ACER - SOURCE BETTER SPEAKERS AND DROP THE DTS ITS WORTHLESS!The DTS program preinstalled on both the 15 inch I returned and this 17 inch were BOTH rendered INOPERATIVE with a recent Windows update, and it's widespread if you search around. DTS thinks you don't have the speakers hooked up (theyre internal) and its unable to turn on the audio programming suite.Do yourself a favor - pick up the $30 Fx Sound 1 app online (one time fee, not the Fx Sound 2 which is yearly), and grab the Sound Core 2 by Anker and watch your sound come ALIVE. Best $60-70 I've spent, the battery life on the speaker is amazing, and it's truly portable - I may rest the speaker in the bezel between the keyboard/screen or position 2 Soundcores on both sides of the screen.

Great gaming computer if you keep up wth the driver updates.
So far this is the fastest boot up and quickest computer I have had. You have to keep up with the Nvidia GeForce video drivers to avoid games from heating up the computer. Just set all games to whisper mode and check after each driver update and have fun. Also be careful updating the Intel Rapid Storage Utility. It could cause SSD's to not work in HDD bay.

HATE IT. OVERHEATS A LOT! NOISY, NOISY FAN!
Ugh, I had searched for so long for a laptop that I felt would be able to do what I needed. I'll admit, I was spoiled with a great Sager, but I didn't want to hand over another 5k for laptop. My Sager's keyboard was going out and the battery was gone.. so I figured it was time (after 7 years) to buy a new laptop.Well, this was a flop. Yes, it is lighter which I really appreciate. And it stays on when I need to take it into another room.. the screen is nice and large. However, the keys get so hot to-touch and the computer is almost always at 4/5 the max for temp. I have to turn the "auto" fan on manually to cool it down... it's a nightmare. I hate this laptop. Truly. Totally. Hate it.
