I see that the paddle top is metal, is the part it goes into on the motor metal also?

Not sure if this is the same one I have but the shaft of the paddle is metal, the rest of it is just plastic. You wouldn't actually want a full on metal paddle, after a few uses the icecream would start tasting metallic. As for the hand crank I have it is a wood handle, metal innards and plastic gears... Or rather the part the shaft goes into is plastic...
