A great sounding and easy to use piece of kit, which connected effortlessly to bluetooth headphones and gave very clear and precise sound with great imagery. Things were revealed in the music that I did not even know where there. Expandable music storage via different micrd sd cards means that this unit will stay current as a music library continues to grow. Very impressed by the build quality of the unit itself and its easy interface with the user, for a reasonable price (although this one was bought on sale and so it was a double bonus). Very pleased indeed.

I really like the presentation. The carton is slightly off center lettering, slightly angled. Hard to tell if by design or just slightly off. Opening box, it was beautiful! Cleanly packed, seamless. The unit is beautifully redesigned. It has multiangled corners so no more sharp edges. Everything is tightly measured, every input, even the case's alignment with the inputs is perfect.The overall new AP80 Pro is much sleeker and petite. It has a much sleeker feel. The screen is very responsive, not so with my regular AP-80. The sound is competitive with the Shanling M0. I am having a problem with the Shanling M0. The screens are becoming detached on 2 M0s I keep streaming with screen off. So I bought this AP80 Pro to replace my confidence in the Shanling M0. If I keep the M0 in its case, it will run forever probably. Just disappointed two screens are popping off. The AP80 seems to be better built, more solid, more durable.The sound is no better than the regular AP80 with the older HyBy system that only has apt-X., for which I have never once updated because the downloads do not work. The Pro is fine, just the way it is. One qualification: the buttons still don't stick out from the case enough so they are hard to push. Especially if the case is on.Nice little player!10-01-20I have an extra set of pretty good speakers, tower floorstanding JBLs that I repaired myself. I moved them into my den. I hooked-up the AP-80 Pro. I wanted a small player and the regular AP-80 sounded a little flat. I only use Bluetooth, LDAC Quality Priority and the receiver is the truly smooth-sounding Fiio BTR5. The amp is a JVC 105 wpc amp. The HiBy R3 models, all do not have the "Soundfield" adjustment as an audio enhancement. I think in most instances, the Soundfield adjustment sounds great, and it's fun to tinker with getting different results.There is a definite benefit to the AP-80 Pro over all three HiBy R3, R3 Pro, R3 Pro Sabre models because of this sound adjustment and all of the different effects it has on the performance. The screen is nice and bright and clear as a bell. It is also very responsive, a far cry from the regular AP-80. The Bluetooth transmission signal is nice and strong.I'm liking this player more and more! It's also the only player I own that I can control easily with one hand. That is a really nice feature. I figured out how to use the volume button so it is easy for me to adjust. Everything easily with one hand. Great sound. Great looks. Great features! Very pleased!

I must say I am very impressed with this AP80 Pro. It has many audio options that I've never seen before.My other audio device is an iRiver H320, which can deliver beautiful sound as an MP3 at 320 kbps at 16 bit. But I am looking forward to hearing the difference with this 24 bit device. I understand that the FLAC codec is favoured among audiophiles so will check it out.Overall, I believe that this little AP80 Pro is very high value for the price, and I highly recommend it.
