This soil is exactly what I needed to add to my other products. The quality is excellent.

This orchid soil is lightweight, holds water nicely but also doesn't bog down the plants, and makes much less of a mess than "regular" dirt. My orchids thrive in it, and look beautiful. Make sure to use stones or marbles at the bottom of the pots, since the plants don't like to have soggy bottoms, give them a nice amount of light, and you will be rewarded!

I was new to Orchids, three years ago, lol. I was killing more than keeping alive. It is a hard left to try to learn to grow Orchids. They are not planted in soil and I was known for my green thumb. There was very little I could kill or not grow, until I got bored one winter and bought an Orchid. OMG The new learning curve, which I am still learning. BUT, this potting mix is what and where I think I need to be. Crossing my fingers that this will help me succeed with my "what are left of my Orchids". Because I took this on as an achievement based "New Hobby". Compared to other Orchid potting mixtures that are simply big chunks of bark, perlite, little sphagnum moss, I just could not get into this growing environment. This mixture is more in line in how I learned to grow plants and flowers. Yes yes yes I understand the difference in Orchids BUT the bagged mixtures were like spreading yard bark. I really like the consistency of this mix. The texture. How it fills the pot and ease of replanting an Orchid into so it actually feels like it is in a growing material. Crossing my fingers on a clearance Orchid that HAD to be repotted. The mixture is not cheap but if it does what am think it will I will be repotting everyone with this. By the way, anyone with Orchids that they don't want or are just giving up entirely, as I was, you can just put on a review for SAVE THE ORCHIDS, my new name is the STO!!!! LOL I will take your dying babies. Seriously, I think this is a great mixture and I will need to be buying more. I WILL UPDATE! I may be crazy. I've been called worse.

Worked well for my orchids

This orchid medium is a superior choice for supporting roots due to its smaller size, which facilitates stability. In comparison to larger bark, I find this medium to be more effective. My orchids are flourishing and well-supported. However, a minor drawback is that the smaller size can lead to fall-out through larger aeration holes in pots. Fortunately, this medium is low-dust, bug-free, and retains just the right amount of moisture for healthy orchid roots, making it essential for a healthy plant.

Great soil. Sat for two weeks before I got to it. Not moldy or musky , no pests. Easy to repack around orchid roots. I did over shower once repotted and let it sit in the wet plate to allow for the new soil to absorb and evaporate the water to remake that tropical environment. About half hour and then dumped extra water. This bag had extra soil for another small plant after being used in two 6” pots.

I bought this mix to repot my orchids into larger orchid pots with ventilation holes on the sides. This pieces in this orchid mix are not appropriate for this application; very small pieces of bark fall out of the sides of the pot. It will be worse when I water. Orchid mix should be much coarser. Enough in bag for about 3 pots.
