A Vertex Vent is ANSI Z89.1-2009 Type I Class C - No Electrical protection. (Most vented helmets do not have electrical protection - even some non vented helmets are only a Type I Class C - No electrical Protection) BUT --- 1) Employees are not subject to any OSHA, employers are. 2) You have to figure out which OSHA / Safety Program (Federal, State, City, County) your employer (may be you if your an independent contractor) is subject too and it will vary by location (especially if its a federal contract or federal land). 3) OSHA or the Safety Program may or may not have fining capabilities. 4) Are you a private employee or a federal employee? (Changes what OSHA / Safety Program you are subject to.) 5) Industrial Rope Access is exempt from OSHA. (Are you IRA when out on a blade? -- Its questionable but maybe. In the tube or on top - probably not.) 6) All insurance companies and contracts involved with you, your employer, the land owner, electric utility and the turbine etc.. will have some fine print that says everyone must comply with all OSHAs, Safety Programs, City/County/State Laws, ANSI guidelines or it is void. (Health Insurance, Workers Comp, and Property Damage Claims can get real messy then.) What OSHA / Safety Program you are subject to is very complex - and that determines if you can legally use a Type I Class C Non Electrically rated helmet. Its also a personal choice and your a grown up - but OSHA / Safety Program guidelines have been developed for a reason. (Some of your other gear - most likely violates lots of OSHA requirements - it so complicated that no one has a correct answer - till there is an accident).

Can this be used for swift water rescue

Putting in Vertex Vent in water hydraulics, is a real bad idea because its not rated or tested for swiftwater. You can get a good rated / certified swiftwater helmet for half the price and the top of the line swiftwater helmets for about the same price. There is a lot of science behind helmets design, the Vertex Vent is designed for impact protection, some electrical protection (its a vented version) not swift water. Water hydraulics can generate extreme forces and since a Vertex Vent doesn't have vents on top, the vents could be close, and is not designed or rated for it; it would probably rip your headoff or break your neck if you got caught on a tree or rock in the river with mass amounts of water pressure.

Can this be used while working in the refineries or oil rigs?

It would depend on what OSHA regulations / State laws / County Laws / City Laws that you are subject to and what corporate policy and insurance policies say..
