Pentel Graph Gear 500 Premium Mechanical

New favorite pencil!! Writes so smooth and lead is sturdy and barely smudges. Grip is quite uncomfy for note taking but that was expected, I just put a grip on it and it’s totally fine! I love the quality of this pencil, feels really nice for the price!

It’s a Pentel mechanical pencil, so obviously great. This particular model is so well made, has a great grip, is generally outstanding. Love it so much I have like six of them.

Some prefer the the sleeker metal tube design of the (more expensive) GraphGear 1000, the finesse of the (much more expensive) Rotring, or the lead-sharpening technology of the Kura Toga. But for our purposes (math homework, pencil art sketches, science data journals) this pencil can't be beaten.The long metal sleeve never jams, and gives you a better view of the contact area for detail work. Each click advances just the right amount of lead, not so much that you get breaks, and not so little that you need to click again often.The metal grip area feels super sturdy and the grip checkering holds the pencil firmly with no slippage. But it's not scratchy or uncomfortable to hold (like the GraphGear 1000 might feel to some).I like the versatility of 05.mm lead. But my son prefers the lead durability and thicker lines of the 0.7mm model, so we got both.This is a premium-feature pencil at a very reasonable price. Highest recommendation.

I love drawing with this pencil! The extra weight and design on the grip allows a better handling. The value is pretty outstanding for the cost! I highly recommend this pencil for artists or anyone who needs a reliable drafting pencil. I also appreciate the extra led and smaller, but still high quality, eraser! Pencil also seems pretty durable and pretty good quality.

Pens and pencils have a field to them and it should feel good in your hand. This one does but not I’ll do for everyone. Mechanically works fine. Pento makes a good product.

Este set es excelente, pero ese lápiz mecánico ( o portaminas) es de los mejores que he usado. Las minas son duraderas, y la goma para borrar es de muy buena calidad.

First, the looks. The design of the pencil is pleasing to the eye. The contrast of the black plastic body and generous knurled metal grip is classy.Second,the feel. I was surprised with how light the pencil feels. I was hoping for a bit more heft, considering the metal end. I find the knurled grip to be very comfortable, even for extended periods of writing. The knurling looks more aggressive than it feels. I have a Rotring 600 that has the heavier feel I prefer, but that is to be expected with its all-metal body, and price.Based on the pencil features alone, this is (to me) a four-star item. But when I consider the extra lead and eraser, the quality of the pencil, and the price, the overall value makes this a five-star product.
