Will this keep the water out during a shower? Recently got a cartilage piercing that I want to keep as dry as possible.

I purchased these because I had an infection in my mastoid and needed to keep the ear dry. I did not find these to work as well as I thought they would. The elastic is not as tight as I thought it would be. I found putting cotton in my ear worked better. Again, this is for the condition I had.
