Review Update - May 2021 Buying my second tube. First tube lasted approximately 18 months, with x1 daily application. Continues to be effective for me. I noticed packaging is new. Hopefully formula is the same. Noticed it is also expensive by $1-2 from 2019. Original Review: December 2019 I've had adult-onset cystic acne for 10++ years, often triggered by fluctuating hormones and certain food groups (dairy). For a while, what has been really effective were monthly visits to my asthetician for a deep pore clean (extractions and peel) and daily Maca Root supplements (one specific brand only). While I'm still on that routine, this new discovery has proven to be as effective (if not more) and waaay cheaper. My expectations were pretty low coming in, but after about 3 months of use now, I am definitely blown away by this product. First month of use I did twice/day right away knowing that, yes, it will irritate my skin. It was strong and harsh. It stung and dried my skin. But I know my skin well enough to say that while it is super sensitive, it is also very resilient. It dried my skin, with mild-moderate redness as well. It was itchy on some days and slightly irritated. It was like this for a few weeks. Sometimes I took a day or two of rest from the product or used it once per day. But I used it regularly. Despite all the "side effects" of initial use, my pores were tight, skin was smooth and large cystic acne decreased significantly. After that initial month, as expected, my skin got used to it. Flash forward to now, it's been 3 months and my face does not dry or sting at all (it's still quite cold out here like December). It does not turn red after use, nor do I get that stinging itch after use. My cystic acne is near non-existent. I still get the ocassional hormonal breakouts around my neck and jawline but much reduced in size, redness and amount. You know a product is simple, strong and effective when it does not have any fragrance, the ingredients list is short, the color is paper-white and consistency is thick. That's what this is. Straightforward, no frills, industrial grade acne treatment that works. I've never truly been this happy with my skin. At the same time, I know that at one point it will stop being as effective and my skin will become immune to its effects. That just how my skin is. But until then, I will be enjoying this product and the others from this brand which I intend to try. Best way to work with hormonal cystic acne is, never give up, continue to adapt, and just love what you have.

Have mild acne.Took a months worth of unflavored bovine collagan I and III.Huge mistake.Huge,ugly cystic acne chin, forehead,cheeks,nose.Stopped the collagan for at least three weeks,changed face wash and moisturizer -still new cystic welts. 'Touch' had immediate results. And within a few short days they are shrinking and clearing away. Under a week and almost gone. I live in Florida so humidity and sunshine.So my face did feel slightly tight or stingy-but minor.And I used a oil free moisturizer and non comedic sunscreen.Once started to clear,I swapped from a entire face thin coat to spot treatment only.Highly recommend.And a lot of product for a small $.Drug store products can't touch this product.

I have oddly stubborn and sensitive skin. I recently had a terrible reaction to something containing verbena and thought salicylic acid would be a way to help speed up my recovery. Wrong. so very wrong. I now realize I cannot use salicylic. I knew 10% benzoyl was way too harsh for me but it is nearly impossible to find anything less or where you don't have to purchase a monthly subscription. I read every last review on this product and nervously took the plunge because I was unfamiliar with the brand. I am so so so happy I did. Literally overnight my face started to act right. I have to be super careful not to get any product on my neck because it breaks out in a hives like rash. It is not this product, just me...that is how my neck likes to act stupid. My face, although sensitive the random blemishes or clogged pores can be super stubborn. This product has also helped the "mask acne" I have gotten from wearing a mask all the time. The price is insane on this. What a DEAL! The quality if superb. As with all products with b.p, it WILL bleach your towel, clothes or bed linens so proceed with caution when using. This happens with any benzoyl product I have used so I expected it. Honestly, I would gladly sacrifice a sleep t-shirt or blanket for CLEAR SKIN. This worked for me. For the record, I am 48. I have hormonal acne during that time of the month with occasional random ones that pop up out of no where. I do not have bad acne, just blemishes that appear at the worst time and places. My skin DOES still get dry with 2.5% but it doesn't get angry like full 10%. I live in a 4 season climate so lots of fluctuations in temps and sweating. I work out and sweat. I don't use a lot of hair products so no blemish from that....I get a few "underdog" blemishes "cystic acne, that are so painful and I used this 3 times a day and it virtually went away and was pain free, which is great. (This is a real review, not some paid person. Just someone who has ALWAYS wanted beautiful skin and this helped get me a little closer.) Thanks for making a good product at an amazing price. BETTER deal than any big box retailer or product. Happy face, behind my mask, and blemish free!

Okay so im going to give a run down of my skin history. And maybe someone might have the same situation and this review might help them decide if this is for them or not. I have hormonal cystic acne. Ive dealt with it for 3 years after i got off birth control. In the last year it calmed down a little. But i do get constant cystic acne. Since its cystic i get big bumps that sit under layers of skin that dont form to white heads for days sometimes weeks. Because of it sitting under layers of my skin nothing i use helps with my skin. Since using this. It does help with my cystic acne. Sometimes there red and ill put on and it wont be red anymore or it does take it down a half size. I am happy with the amount i got for the price. I use it almost everyday and i use it at night. Ive been using for a month now. And im not mad at my results and will keep using.

I've been dealing with terrible hormonal cystic acne on my chin for years, but it's only been getting worse and worse. The last time I broke out badly due to being all out of product I could feel the lymph nodes under my chin swelling and my bottom lip started swelling up. It was a whole infection despite my best efforts to keep it clean. The only thing that's worked for me in the past is azelaic acid, which I had found helped through curology, however I had to switch to azelaic serum because curology costs a lot. Before, I was able to get azelaic 15% online, and it worked so well, but I can't get it online anymore at 15% (because they all disappeared, I think you need a prescription to get anything over 12%?). So all I've been using recently is The Ordinary 10%, but that only juuust keeps it from breaking out like crazy. Once I got this stuff though it's completely cleared it up. The first week or two while I was still putting it on thicker my skin was super dry and it's like the whole area was shedding, which I think it really needed, but I've since learned to centralize exactly where I need to use it so clear skin doesn't get dried out. But yeah, definitely noticed an improvement within the first day; I had already noticed it didn't have that itching and festering feeling. Since it's all cleared up by now I use the tiniest of amounts just to make sure it stays clear and it doesn't dry it out. Every now and then if I go two or three days without it I notice it starting to break out in one tiny spot ever so slightly so I know to put more of this on it and it keeps it clear. As for the bleaching, I always make sure to wash my hands after I use it and I haven't noticed any bleaching on my pillowcases or doing anything to my hair those few times I had used it near my hairline. I remember reading a review about the product losing effectiveness, but in getting a new bottle it worked just fine? I've had this bottle since February 17th, nearly two months now, and so far it hasn't lost its effectiveness for me, but I do agree that it is a huge bottle considering how much you use each time. I would definitely love it if they offered half the amount for half the price, because 8oz is a TON and if it does end up losing its effectiveness then I don't want to waste all of that product. I definitely recommend this if you have cystic acne. Just remember to gently exfoliate/rub the dried and dead skin off with a soft washcloth before washing your face; skip out on the average American face scrubs- they're way too harsh.
