A great EDC bag!
UPDATE - 2 years of constant use and this bag is STILL going strong! I'm still amazed at the versatility of this bag. Since I wrote my review, I took up photography as a hobby, and, as crazy as it sounds, my Canon DSLR camera fits perfectly in the main pocket...and I can still slide my wallet and med pouch in next to it (though it is a tight fit). Most times, I'm carrying my laptop, thin coffee cup/thermos, kindle fire, phone, wallet, medicine pouch, a couple battery packs and phone charger cords in the large main pocket and I can still pull things out and put things back without a hassle. My only concern is overpacking. Sometimes I can make it too heavy to be carried comfortably sling-style. But those time are temporary and I'll usually carry it on my shoulder (like a purse or messenger bag) or carry it by the handles. The good news is that this bag is built so well that it takes the abuse and keeps on going!I suffer from sciatica attacks periodically (my sciatic nerve in my lower back gets pinched and I have problems walking and sitting for a few days) and I have to switch my things to a different bag for a few days to ensure that my back heals in a timely manner. (Wearing ANYTHING sling-style across my back/chest irritates my condition.) BUT the moment my back is better, I go right back to this bag. Everything just fits so perfectly and everything has its place, so I can easily reach in and grab what I need. My friends call it my "Mary Poppins bag" since I usually can pull whatever they need out of it quickly. ;-)----------------------I LOVE LOVE LOVE this bag. I'm a writer, returning college student, and single mom with 2 kids, and as such, seem to have to carry around half a ton of stuff for them and me. I use this as my EDC (every day carry) bag and have gotten some great compliments on it. It looks professional enough to bring with me when I'm meeting with clients or doing an interview (minus my geeky velcro patches, of course!) but durable to take on playdates and trips to the amusement park. I'm amazed at the sheer amount of stuff I can tuck into the bag and I love that it has a thin profile, so I don't get flagged as a "person with a backpack" when I walk into stores or museums. Also, there are times when I have to carry my school backpack with this bag (like when I go to study at the library after running errands) and it works out well. I can wear my backpack on my back and this back across my body as a sling, and it sits low enough on my hip that the two never hit one another or become too cumbersome on my back. The back velcro slot is the perfect size for a tablet or small laptop. My 13" Chromebook fits perfectly, and since that pocket is against my body, no one can take off with my electronics without a fight, and it's easy to pull out for security checks....or just to look something up quickly. (BUT, I will warn you - putting heavy things (like electronics) in the back pocket makes this bag fall over very very easily...so make sure it's propped up against something or laying down flat when carrying your tablet or laptop back there.)The main pocket is almost cavernous. I can put a medium sized water bottle in there, along with my wallet, medicine pouch, portable batteries, and a book and still have room for a couple snacks. You sometimes have to get "inventive" about stacking items (the bag is DEEP), but after a few outings, you get the general idea on how to pack it and have everything at hand. (I once unpacked my "Bag of Holding" while out with one of my friends and she was AMAZED at what I fit in there! HA!) There are pockets on the inside of the main area, but I rarely use them, since putting stuff in them makes them stick out and get in the way of me being able to quickly slide my large wallet in and out.The front zipper area has plenty of pockets and places to slide small stuff in, and the straps on the side helps to ensure that the front pocket doesn't just FLOP open and dump the stuff in the bottom all over the sidewalk. The thing is - the more you put in that front area, the more it sticks into the main area, which can make sliding my wallet in and out difficult. I do not use the front plastic pouch area for a tablet, but rather to hold and aux set of keys, some kleenex, a thin flashlight and a reusable grocery bag.The front is covered with a VERY LARGE bit of soft velcro loops, so you can attach velcro patches with ease. This is pretty cool, allowing you to show off your geekiness...but then quickly remove them when you need to go professional.I do LOVE the carry handle on the top. It's hard rubber that is easy to grab and keep tight in your grasp. Even the strap, the one part of the bag that most companies skimp on, is made well and comfortable to wear, even when the bag weighs a ton.The one downfall of this bag are the "water bottle pouches" on the side - they are small and not really tall enough to support a tall cup. I can barely slide my thin thermos coffee cup in there and even then, I fear it falling out, since its a lot taller than the pouch/pocket. You can slip some of the smaller, thinner water bottles in there, but I'd go with a disposable one just in case it slips out and disappears on you.All in all, this is a great EDC bag. the material is thick and all the seams are well stitched. I'm very glad I bought this bag and I look forward to a lot of adventures with this baby!

... this for my trip to SDCC and it was perfect. I usually have one large bag I carry ...
Ordered this for my trip to SDCC and it was perfect. I usually have one large bag I carry comics to get things signed in, and need something smaller to hold things like tickets, markers, my tablet, charger, etc, and this worked perfectly. It was small and lightweight enough that it was my bag that I took to offsite events (held my tickets), took to go out to eat at, and used on days when I wanted to travel light (still fit my Kindle Fire and a portable battery). It had a nice area for my markers, which did come in handy when I needed stuff signed and its very easy to open and get into for those times you have to let security look through your stuff. It also held my water bottle just right. Extremely sturdy and I saw a few people at SDCC with this bag as well. If you want to travel light, but still have the functionality to carry quite a few small items, this bag works flawlessly. I'm also quite tall so I was able to adjust the strap to accommodate my height with plenty of room to spare had I been any larger.

very happy =^..^=
I don't go to cons or raves (is that what they're still called?) anymore, I just D&D twice a week. But man, I'm the coolest little chick with my bag of holding that holds my stuff! I've got my surface in there, my ipad, my phb, my spellbooks, my big levenger notebook, my mini tul notebook, my pens, my fan, my charging wires, my candy, my dr.pecker, and there's still more room for whatever I need to get in there. It isn't even as heavy as my purse! it's cute too with lots 'o pockets! I don't have anything cool from anywhere cool to attach to it so the monkey isn't so lonely but I think I'm going to be making a few things to make it dance! It's a fun bag and jolly for that D&D nerd in you. <3

Xmas gift for nerd prince fiancée/GM
Not sure about the durability yet. Comfortable on the shoulder, holds the dice cup in one side drink holder, the other held bottled water. It holds a crapload of dice in an inner pocket, and has room for 1 large hardcover and one medium softcover rulebook and a Manila folder of characters. Lots of little slots for pens, cell phone, etc. Will definitely recommend for a quick jaunt to a friend’s house for game day. Hard-core users or GMs may want more expandable room, but this will make you streamline your packing and won’t kill your shoulder carrying it. Nice to go gamer pack.

Pinstrap makes your pins fall off.
The bag itself isn't bad. I use it everyday for school and it holds quite a lot for the size. The biggest issue I have with it is that it advertises that there is an extra little strap to put buttons and pins on. I love pins, so I thought it would be a great way to display them. However, the pins kept falling off of the strap because the actual adjustable backpack strap underneath rubbed against the pin strap, causing them to fall off. I've lost about 7 pins now and I'm very disappointed. I can't put the pins on the front of the bag either because I'd have to poke them through the inside of the bag where the iPad should go, and I don't want the backs of the pins to scratch the iPad. So there's a giant velcro front that doesn't look good without already having patches to put on it, and a flawed pin strap that makes my pins fall off. I'm pretty disappointed about that. Otherwise, the bag is perfectly fine.

Prefect sized bag for DnD Night
I use this bag for Pathfinder/DnD every Friday night it fits my MAC laptop and my dice and painted miniatures as well. It can't take a lot of pathfinder books, however, I don't usually carry those with my to game night. It fits across the shoulder and is very durable. I hope this lasts longer than past three bags. I would recommend this for conventions as well. Its just big enough to carry stuff and just small enough not to bump people there. Good bag overall,

YES!
This is perfect for what I needed. I was looking for a nice sized bag to use for flying and taking to things like theme parks and comicons and this is great, it holds a lot, has great compartments, but the selling point for me was the versatile strap/handle and the drink holder on the side.
