Adds extra 234 grams to your club of choice, does slide around though, and probably contains lead
The power sleeve weighed 234 grams (about 0.5 pounds) on my scale, and when added to a long iron or 3 wood, I could definitely feel the difference in swing weight. The back of packaging suggests it contains a chemical considered harmful by the state of California. I can see a strip of material embedded in the fabric. The fact all of it is non-magnetic, has quite a bit of mass in such a small amount (dense material), suggests it might be lead. I don't see how it can be exposed to the operator, so it is most likely safe as long as you don't eat a chunk of the power sleeve. The thickest/longest velcro strap is supposed to be at the hosel/clubehead. No matter how much I tightened these straps, the sleeve would slide down if I took too much of a divot or hit the mat hard. For this reason, I do not recommend using it on a good club. Not to worry, because the idea of the Power Sleeve is to allow you to build up swing speed and correct your swing. Whether it is a 2 iron, a driver, wood, or hybrid, most of the swing mechanics are the same with the exception that you want to swing up with the driver.I took the sleeve to the driving range, strapped it to a 2 iron, and started with half swing speed and built up to full swing speed (as much as I could) and nailed some nice shots. I took off the sleeve, and repeated the process. The extra half pound of weight is definitely noticeable. The only club I have at home that comes close to this weight is my 500+ gram Taylormade Rossa Corza Ghost putter.Overall: 4/5 stars. It tends to slide around, so I recommend using it on a steel shaft and not on your best/expensive clubs because the point is to build up swing speed and correct swing techniques. Just using it to warm up or stretch before tee time, it shouldn't slide around on your driver or graphite shaft unless you are trying to hit balls.
