Imagine Family Doctor
In this game you can imagine being a doctor. You play as the role of a new doctor in town named Abby.In the game you get to do things that real doctors do such as: giving checkups, getting the height and weight of patients, taking temperatures, taking blood pressure and pulse, doing eye exams, analyzing coughs, doing x-rays, removing splinters, comparing different marks such as (bruises, scratches, spots, etc), and doing allegry tests.I think this game is fun and interesting.I would recommend it to people who are doctors, want to become doctors, or if they like the imagine game series(like I do.

Not realistic!
I bought this game knowing that it was probably geared towards kids but it is incredibly boring! I am a doctor and am disappointed in how inaccurate this game is. The doctor tells his patient with a blood pressure of 140/104 that his pressure is fine! She also can diagnose strep throat just by looking at the throat but then only treats it with something for the fever. She sees 4 or 5 patients in a day and the scenarios are the same. I bought this game last week and am going to trade it in immediately. I don't even think my 11-year old will think it's fun!

Boring!
I am very disappointed in this game. You are a doctor and you have to treat people but all the symptoms they come in with seems to be the same. My biggest problem with this game is that they say you can play the game with just the stylus but that is not true. Most of the time you have to check people's throats and breathing which you have tosay "AHHHHH" or deep breathe, but there is no way to do those things with just the stylus. You have to get a microphone and most of the time that does not even work. Skip this game and buy more fun games by Imagine like Figure Skater or Ice Champions.

Great for kids, not at all realistic
My 8 y.o. daughter LOVES this game - it has been the going favorite since we bought it a couple weeks ago, and we'd bought a couple others at the same time. I'm a nurse practitioner and she's at the age where she wants to do what Mommy does. She loves that this game lets her see patients and give them treatments like mommy does. The interactions with patients and the interventions are not at all accurate or close to reality. Anyone with more than a basic knowledge of first aid would likely be annoyed by this and should pass on buying the game. Because it is so far from realistic it is best for kids, not adults. (I'd say that also goes for most of the imagine games we've bought for the DS...) For example, a person had a temperature of 9 and that was a fever on the game(normal temperature is considered 98.6 - even a dead body would be more than 9 unless they're frozen), There is also a "test" on a machine that measures a patient's cough - no such thing in the real world. So just know the game is very much pretend with imaginary tests and treatments that are not at all realistic.Summary: This is a fun game for kids who want to "pretend play" that they're seeing patients, but it is not realistic at all.

Disappointing
I bought this because I love doctor games, and I have got to say, it was a real disappointment. You can't customize your character at all other than changing her clothes occasionally with only five or so options and there's an alternate story line that I could care less about that takes up more of the game than the actual doctoring. The patients all look the same, the symptoms vary very slightly, and I was able to finish it in about five hours, tops. Very boring, no variety, and not worth the money I spent for it. Replaying is no fun because everything was predictable from the start. Trauma Center is much more fun (even if I don't like the challenge all the time) because you actually get to treat people, not just put ointment on their bug bites. I mean really, who goes to the doctor for a mosquito bite? And an animal scratch that's not infected? These people have like no bandages at home. I don't recommend this game to anyone but young children who are fascinated, but buy it used. It is not worth buying new, no matter what. Or rent the game. It goes too fast to get your money's worth any other way.

Fun game for role-play
I purchased this game for my daughter who wants to be a doctor. She's 8 years old and really likes this game. She plays it at least once a week. It has a lot of reading so I would save it for the older kids, but probably not over age 10.
