It works, what else can I say?
Cats and keyboards! What's the big attraction? Humans may never know but it seems like most cats have the answer. Maybe it's the smell of the oils from our fingers? Whatever it is, if you leave your computer operating unattended for any length of time you will want some way to prevent the dreaded "Kitten on the Keys" scenario. There are several ways to solve the problem. I use a keyboard drawer so I can just slide my keyboard out of reach when not in use. This works very well for me though I suppose a cat could reach into the crack at the front of the drawer and touch a key. All I can say is that it has not happened to me yet.One could force a computer into sleep mode whenever one left or let the screensaver can do this automatically after x minutes. With the right settings, hitting random keys on the keyboard won't cause any problems but there is some risk before the sleep mode engages and the possibility that some pop-up might occur and prevent the sleep mode entirely. I would consider this a rather dodgy solution. The Pet Proof Cover is the best solution I was able to find and it isn't bad. The cover is very nicely made. It is simply a shallow oblong Plexiglas box with the bottom open and a small notch for the keyboard cord at the center back bottom. There are two problems with it but both are relatively trivial. 1) The box is light enough that a good-sized cat could push it around, possibly off the desk. 2) When not in use, you have to lift the box off and put it somewhere. In my husband's crowded work area there aren't many places to set it. The best place he's found so far is his trash can. I hope it doesn't accidentally get thrown out one day! Some years ago I had a keyboard that had a hinged lid. You flipped it up to work and back down to protect the keyboard. If they still make these, I was unable to find one. Too bad as there are many environments where such a keyboard would be very useful. Cats aren't the only dangers keyboards face. There are keyboards in dirty industrial settings (dust & dirt) near beaches (sand) on boats (salt spray) etc. Hey keyboard manufacturers! Wake up! (and while you're at it, why not add a cheap key lock to keep little kids out too!) This would be the best solution by far!Still, I don't mean to be negative about the Viziflex Cover. It does the job and it was the best solution I was able to find where a keyboard drawer wouldn't work. I'd buy it again if I needed another one.

A bit large, but functional
Working from home during the pandemic, where I have coworkers that do NOT respect private spaces (namely, 3 cats), I needed something to protect my keyboard. I have a separate keyboard for my laptop, and when not working, one of my cats has taken to leaning on my work keyboard, standing on it, doing everything to get my attention. Getting locked out after 4 failed password attempts is particularly annoying, as is dealing with the consequences of getting Sticky Keys enabled. This is a decent solution, though not perfect. It's sturdy, but a bit overlarge. My Das keyboard is a sizeable 104 key keyboard. This sticks out about 1.5 inches past either long end, about an inch off the bottom, and it stands a good 3/4ths of an inch above the keyboard. In other words, it takes up a bit more room than I would like. But it is excellent for keeping the cats off keyboard.

Large enough to cover standard 101 keyboard
More than I wanted to spend but it was the ONLY cover large enough and tough enough to protect the keyboard from the evil feline. Bought another shortly after receiving this one.

I don't know what I'd do without this
My cats are constantly walking on the keyboard. I have used this item two ways:I put it over the keyboard when I leave the room to keep them from deleting things. But since they mostly come to my desk when I am sitting here, I have turned it up on it's sideand slid my keyboard partly inside so there's a bit of a barrier. I simply pull the wireless keyboardand the cover toward me when they jump on the desk. That way there is a barrier "wall" between meand the cat.I also stick notes under it that I don't want to disappear. Since my mouse is also wireless, I set it gentlyinside also, because they also have knocked it down as well.If you have cats who like to come to visit you at your desk, this is a good thing to have.

This keyboard protector does the job
This seems to be a well made product and gives a place for my cat to perch without him getting hair into the keyboard or scrambling my computer with unknown commands after sitting on keyboard. This keyboard protector is made of different pieces of acrylic plastic that have been cut out separately and glued together. to form a solid sturdy single unit. There is a small curved notch on the backside for the keyboard cord to fit through so the protector does not sit on top of the cord. After my CLUMSY CAT accidentally knocked the protector off the computer desk I do notice some small hairline cracks coming off the glue line on the backside but it still is solid and holding up well.I would recommend this product for anyone who wants to keep pets off their keyboard.
