Bell'acquisto.

Bonus FM less than perfect Bluetooth connectivity.
I had searched for but could not find the older A55 which is identical to the A55L except for having a built in FM radio which the A55L does not have according to Sony and all the reviews I've read.Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it DOES actually have a fully functioning FM radio. It is clearly marked as A55L on the unit and the box and in the listing. I don't know if the unit I have is just a freak or whether the whole batch has functioning built in radios.Perhaps the function disappears when you update the firmware?I had to charge my phone twiced during the period I have been constantly playing music through this Walkman, so pretty good battery life. The user interface seems simple enough, although you need to be very familiar with your music collection as there is NO search facility. The Bluetooth connectivity however is disappointing. My phone connects without fuss to ANY bluetooth adapter and retains full function from the handset. This will connect to older Bluetooth devices but often much fiddling with the connection settings is required and you lose your volume control on the Walkman. It works wonderfully with the newer Bluetooth devices retaining full volume control function. Easy to change your little Bluetooth adapter for a new one but you wouldn't want to have to change your car!Bluetooth is disappointing for that reason.I have a Sony Xperia not much older than this series of walkmans both with NFC capability. Of course, this won't connect to the Sony phone because they are not compatible. Pretty pointless feature if I have to buy a brand new Sony phone to get to use this feature. The NFC on my phone works perfectly with other NFC compatible devices. So NFC disappointing for that reason also. The sound quality however is truly excellent through Bluetooth speakers and headphones. Outstanding. No frills and a bit fiddly sometimes but when you get it connected it sounds very good indeed.Unfortunately, the last track remains in pause mode and the player display which occupies the bottom third of the screen permanently.Overall, very pleased for the price of £148. Especially with the massive bonus of the FM radio.

NW-A55L DAP player/walkman with DAC
Even though my NWZ-S765 is still going strong it just isnt big enough for all the music I want to put on it so after much humming and ha ing decided to shell out for this the nw-a55l.Is it worth it? For me yes.I'm not running through the unboxing etc but just my experience after having had it a few days and putting it through its paces.First off size. It's a tiny little thing and very light. The picture shows a size comparison to the nwz.No problem at all getting a 128 gb sand disc card in and as per set up format with the player not on a pc.I had no problem with adding tracks as a test via Windows media player synch with Windows 10 but options were limited so installed the Sony music centre. I find it excellent, its light years on from the clunky media go one.I found how to add the album Art, a problem that a lot of people seem to be having. Also when importing from cd there's options to do so as FLAC AAC etc. Again windows media does this but the Sony centre is more user friendly. No problem transferring to either internal storage or SD card.Sound is fantastic with this device. The various effects only work with a wired headset and it seems like a decent one is needed. My in ear sennheisers sound great. Under £20 in ears nope.Bluetooth wireless headset even better. Sounds absolutely great with my Sony ones.I can't see any problem with loudness as previous reviews have mentioned. Sounds plenty loud on Bluetooth and on wired dial goes up to 120. So it's all personal preference. I haven't added or changed firmware it all works fine for me.Only slight niggles compared to NWZ-S765 no fm radio as standard and accessing artists. No radio isn't a deal breaker as I bought it solely for my music collection. On the NWZ-S765 the artists had a handy a to c d to e etc... This just has a long scroll list but again not a deal breaker.Power : normal charge time and a reasonable boot up time while it sorts out the database.Sony only cable not standard USB.No problem connecting any other blue tooth devices. So all in all I absolutely love it and for me a nice upgrade.Short update on Bluetooth Reciever Function and DAC FunctionThis walkman has no wifi so only bluetooth. Paired with a phone streaming services such as Spotify can be played through the walkman with sound upscaled .My phone is Android and have had no problem with this so I can't comment how well this would work with Apple.DAC.This is my understanding of it.Basically it works as a headphone pre amp on a PC. Instead of using the onboard soundcard to headphones the DAC function replaces this and upscales the sound, but only through headphones plugged into the walkman not any external sound source. Please see pic for inputs.Hope this helps:)
