Great Value
This is the 3rd Blueridge that I've owned now. And while I was trying to save up for a Martin, at the end of the day I just couldn't justify the cost of getting one new. That being said, I've played many, many Martins over the past year. Ranging from their Modern Deluxe Series to Standard Series and have played many models within the series themselves. Mainly, D-28's, HD-28's, D-35's, OM-28's and OO-28's. So with that said, I will say, this guitar, the Blueridge BR-280 is not a Martin. It's maybe missing that elusive 5-10% of magic. And to be honest, that could all be confirmation bias. I can't find a single flaw with the BR-280 that was sent to me. It is a stunning guitar visually, so we'll need to wait an see if it stands the test of time. What it offers in the immediate is great sound, great play ability, and I will say that this guitar has a great and beautiful sustain in the notes played. There is also a noticeable feel that emanates from the Adirondack top. While playing various Martin's I would equate this resonance to what I found to be true in the HD series, so perhaps it's from the scalloped bracing? Either way, there is a great feel and vibrancy in the notes being played that you can hear with the sustain and feel from the top of the guitar. I think this guitar carries a lot of value from the perspective of providing a great guitar at an affordable price. Is it a Martin, that is....does it feel, and sound like a Martin, or hold that sort of elusive pinnacle of being a Martin? No, it's not a Martin. But is it a great, incredible guitar, yes.

Visually STUNNING, Audibly Weak
Purchased this guitar just over a week ago. Unfortunately it was an online purchase that I was unable to play before buying. I’m impressed with the wood selection and workmanship from a visual standpoint is almost perfect. One spot of under sprayed finish on top/ lower bout binding. That said, my enthusiasm quickly took a hit when I played it. The sales person assured me I was going to love it and that it was a “ Cannon” Fretted notes and open strings buzz all over the guitar. Instead of a Cannon I get“ plinky “sounds with little resonance. Obviously gonna need neck/ bridge/ fret work. Hopefully nothing serious. Just disappointing right out of the box for the price of what is otherwise a beautiful guitar. But playing guitar for looks alone is out of my repertoire.
