Velleman K8044 10-Channel Low-Voltage Light Chaser

Good kit all components included.

I ordered two of these kits, assembled both in a evening.. about 40 to 50 min each. I am familiar with soldering and building electronics. The instructions were clear, BOM complete, and overall an excellent kit at a great price. They were perfect for my applications: (1) to drive three rows of LEDs (26 mA ea) in parallel to create effect for flux capacitor prop. I used current limit resistors on each. (2) drive two rows of LEDs in similar fashion to create effect for plutonium fusion generator and navigation lights prop.

Worked for what I needed it for, a scale model airport runway for a display piece. I used parallel strings of LED's in 12v combinations (big mix of white, amber, red, green, blue) and assigned certain strings to certain channels on the curcuit board. Ive added a picture of the rats nest hiding under the project board. Nice how you can adjust the speed. Would buy again for other chaser light applications. Board is 'pre-fluxed' for when you go to solder. Video to come.

The kit is OK and it does what it suppose to, but in my case it was missing SW1 SW2 switches that I had to substitute with what I found in my drawer. A bit disappointed.

It's A Lot Of Working with Very TighT Area solder joints but works well when finished, provided it has enough power available?
