Lasonic i-931BT Portable AM/FM Radio Bluetooth Ghetto Blaster Boombox Speakers (i-931BT, SILVER)

I knocked off one star because the speaker for the highs under the volume knob was intermittently cutting on/off right out of the box and another star for subwoofer airspace design. I found two broken solder joints on each leg of the resistor that was bridged from the woofer in series to the high speaker. I replaced the wire with a more durable gauge wire and reinforced each resistor solder joint with silver solder. There are reviews of the same model but different colors mentioning the highs are decorative and doesn't work but they ARE real speakers and they do work. It's more likely to be a broken solder joint from the resistor or wires causing them not to work. I took some pictures and measurements of exactly what you're getting internally. The 8" woofers are made of paper and polypropylene. The 1.5" high speakers are made of paper. I give it 4 stars for the gadgets and options. I would have to give it about a 3 for sound. I think they could of improved the bass acoustically if it had it's own airspace. It sounds okay for something that's portable and is reasonably loud. The 8" speakers sound more like woofers than subs. They will do punchy bass but is mediocre in the lower bass range. In no way will it compare to a amplified system running dedicated subs, mids, and highs.UPDATE: 3 months in, still works but I plan to gut the internals of this thing and place it in my own wooden box (similar style to the new BUMPBOXX but smaller), the plastic case design makes the low end bass sound horrid, the subs DO NOT have it's own airspace and ports even though it appears like they do from the frontside. The BUMPBOXX storefront launched on amazon 2 weeks ago. It cost more but it is bigger and more importantly built correctly. I recommend getting the BUMPBOXX over the Lasonic if you want something that's built correctly the first time.

As far as controls go this product left a little bit to be desired, for instance the volume knob doesn't work very well.As far as being incredibly loud (the reason I bought it), it exceeded my expectations.Four stars

Good sound. The remote is average as it`s a bit hard to press the buttons. The digital read out is handy. Solid feel and built. The bass and treble is fair.
