Philips LED Frosted A19 Light Bulb, Non-Dimmable, 800 Lumen, Daylight (5000K), 9W=60W, E26 Base, 16-Pack

I bought these bulbs in the daylight (5000k) non-dimmable option. So far I'm very pleased with them. We recently moved. Our old house had Sylvania brand 2700k soft white LEDs throughout, which we liked. After moving into the new house we learned that they had fitted the whole thing with incandescent bulbs. A brand new house built in 2017 with filament bulbs. Ridiculous, right? One of them burnt out the day after we moved. Obviously they had to go. Rather than buying 2700k again, I decided to go with 5000k this time since this house is much more modern-looking than our old one. I tested the first box in the bathroom just to see how they would look and was stunned by just how white they are. There's no hint of yellow or blue, just straight up, stark white. "Daylight" is an accurate description. I put them in half of the first floor to compare them to the incandescents and it made the old ones look yellow. Not just warm, I mean ugly urine-yellow, like a sepia filter on a camera. The stark white light gives everything in the house a truer color. The walls look especially better. The floor looks less brown and more like driftwood, which is what we were going for. The furniture looks newer. The bathrooms look cleaner. Everything just looks better. It actually took a couple of weeks to get used to, coming from 2700k bulbs, but now I can't imagine going back. As for the bulbs in general, time will tell how well they hold up. It's only been a month since we installed them so I can't attest to their long-term reliability. We had our old LEDs for years, though, so I'm expecting these to last the decade that they claim. The brightness description is accurate, although these are actually very slightly brighter than a 60W incandescent bulb and 8W LED bulbs (these are 8.5W). All 64 bulbs I ordered work. No duds.

I've been replacing my CFL bulbs with LEDs; the main drawback to LEDs has been their price, but buying a batch like this makes them very affordable. There are several reasons for making the switch from CFLs: safety, economy, and the broader issue of decreasing my use of electrical power. A broken CFL creates a sort of mini hazardous-site (check the EPA's cleanup instructions if you think I'm kidding), and although Lowes and Home Depot do accept old CFLs for recycling, I don't particularly like chauffeuring my old light bulbs around or storing them for an annual hazardous waste collection event. These are great bulbs for the price if you don't use them with dimmers or in fully enclosed fixtures. These are standard 5000 K "daylight" bulbs, and 8 watts produce 800 lumens. These seem to be much less directional than many LEDs, spreading light over a wider area, although the packaging doesn't specify the exact angle. I switched from warmer white to "daylight" bulbs recently because they 1) let me judge colors more accurately, 2) lighten up my mood and living space, and 3) produce slightly more lumens per watt than warmer white bulbs. "Daylight" is quite cool but not stark or unpleasant. I like bright spaces, and I've been delighted to find I can actually swap out my old 75w or equivalent bulbs for these 60w equivalents. I'm definitely stocking up on these.

I'm weiting this review after 7 years, i finally had 2 bulbs burn out that I leave on 24/7 (outdoor) i still have 1 that's on 24/7 and still going along with the others that are regular indoor use so not on all the time. They're great and bright and last long.

These are fantastic A19 LED bulbs. They are super low wattage (8W), produce good, bright clean light (I did daylight but they offer soft white as well) and they are instant on. For that last part, if you don't know, some LED bulbs take a small fraction of a second to turn on after the switch is flipped. It's not a huge deal but I personally find it annoying. It also looks terrible in an situation where you are mixing LED bulbs with regular bulbs and everything is turning on at different times. I have been using these bulbs inside and outside and have had no issues thus far. I have few more to go before essentially every light bulb in my house will be converted over to LED. Not only am I saving money on the electricity used on the bulbs themselves, where the real money to be gained comes from is my reduced AC electricity needs due to the lack of heat these lights produce over other bulbs. That's where you can get some real energy savings, especially in hot climates like Florida. My personal preference is to use daylight bulbs in closets, laundry room and garages and soft white in livings spaces like the living room and bedrooms.

This review is the for the 16 pack, daylight bulbs I have been working to replace old bulbs as they go out with LED’s, for energy savings of course, but also because I don’t like the fact that the other bulbs have mercury in them and are hard to recycle and dispose. The box indicates on the outside that the bulbs are 60-watt equivalents. The bulbs have a bright blue/white light. They turn on instantly with no noise and have very little heat emitted, which is another benefit to LED’s. These particular bulbs are not dimmable. The bulbs have a plastic housing and plastic lenses which appears to be typical of LED bulbs. The bulbs appear to be sturdy with the metal socket solidly attached to the plastic housing. The bulbs fit in most standard sockets as they look like the standard older incandescent style bulbs. I use these in my recessed can lighting and my ceiling fan lights. One of the main reasons I like LED lighting is that they don’t contain mercury like CFL’s do. Like CFL’s these are more energy efficient than conventional bulbs. The boxes indicate that the bulbs have a 10-year lifespan, roughly 11,000 hours. In the fine print on the box, that is 3 hours a day. Realistically, these bulbs will last far less than 10 years and probably be in the 3-year range. It seems all brands of LEDS make this type of grand claims with their bulbs’ lifespan. I have tried a variety of brands of LEDS and none have made it past a couple years of regular use. These are priced slightly higher than the number of generics that are out there. I went with Philips because of the name brand and because these have a 3-year warranty on the bulbs. If I can get 3 years of use out of the bulbs, I will be satisfied. I will update my review with any durability issues. The bulbs seem to be good quality with good brightness. It remains to be seen how durable they will be long term and how difficult it will be to get them replaced under warranty. 4 stars

These bulbs give my apartment a bright, clean new look and really make the colors of my artwork look vibrant and natural. It's also great lighting for taking photos and selfies. I had previously bought the warm white bulbs and those gave my place a dim, yellow look. The furniture and art took on a yellow, almost brown cast and photos always look underexposed and brownish tint. I recommend these daylight bulbs if you have modern furniture like white high gloss and want clean light, it may even boost your mood. I would only recommend the warm bulbs if you have an older or retro style home and want that yellow den type of lighting. It's a matter of personal taste, but that is my opinion. As for longevity, I had the soft white LED bulbs for approximately one year and not a single bulb burned out, buzzed or changed color. I expect the daylight bulbs to do the same. They seem well worth the price and I highly recommend them!

I just finished a box of these and ordered another. I just checked my Amazon history and found my previous order, which was from 10/2017. So, 7 years since I bought this box I am half-way through them, and they have been great. The first ones from that box are just now starting to die in places that get a LOT of use. Great bulbs. I will definitely be back to buy again when this box finishes. My bulbs are 5000 Kelvin, which I use for daytime places like kitchen. For bedroom applications I use lower-Kelvin bulbs to try to keep that lighting from interfering with our sleep.

I found these to be a real improvement over the CFLs I replaced out. Though both were rated "60w" (~800 lumens), I find these to be significantly brighter, and don't miss the annoying warm-up period of CFLs or the flicker I believe I could see on CFLs.. The 5400k color temperature is great, looks and feels very natural. I was also concerned after having a couple of Feit CFLs go up in smoke over the years, and noticed signs of heat discoloration around the ballast of the removed CFLs. Not good. Also, my ceiling lights require a ladder plus use of a 4' bulb gripper to change, so doubling the potential lifespan of inaccessible bulbs is attractive. Finally, at 8.5w actual power consumption, little more than half the power consumption of the CFLs, having a few of these hooked to the UPS circuit is a great thing when I take a power hit, while not noticeably reducing the power available to the other devices. If I get decent life out of these, I'll be a happy camper. What's not to like?
