Radio maker known for good sound produces a decent BT speaker
The market is pretty crowded with portable bluetooth speakers right now, but this Sangean speaker has some unique features. It is fairly flat which makes it more portable than other boxier units. You can pair to the speaker easily using NFC, although I found pairing with bluetooth to be easy well.Of course the trade off for its slim physique is that the bass is more limited, so if you want more bump than clarity you should look elsewhere. This is not to say that the BTS-101 does not produce some punchy bass through its passive bass speaker, especially if it is laying flat on a table (which is what they recommend) and you're listening and mid to high volume. More than anything the passive bass speaker enhances the mid-range and fleshes out the sound. On the other end the speaker struggles a little with some high frequencies, giving off hints of distortion. I've listened to a wide variety of music and some podcasts with it and overall the sound is pleasing despite its limitations given the size and price.This speaker is also available in more vibrant colors if you look around.
