Tteokbokki Stew

I am very glad that I tried this tteokbokki! It is very hard to find authentic tasting tteokbokki in the US; they are often too sweet or too spicy. But sauce used for Surasang tteokbokki had the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. Rice cakes were also very delicious (chewy). I guarantee that you will be much more satisfied with these tteokbokkis than you would be with the ones you get from H Marts. It's not just me - my other Korean friends were very impressed when I brought it to the potluck lunch! I tried cooking this tteokbokki in two different ways: 1. in microwave as recommended on the cover 2. in a pot with boiling water. I would say that both tasted good, but if you have time, definitely try cooking it in a pot with more vegetables, eggs, etc., for a richer flavor! Either way you will love these.

I really enjoy the flavor of this 떡볶이 , and the packaging is pretty great, but the thickness is not there. When I don't put much water in the rice doesn't seem right, and when I put enough water to make the rice how I want it, the sauce is too thin. I think I may need to cook the two separate.

I really like the flavor of the Surasang, Sweet and Spicy. Note: The instructions say to cook it in the microwave. I don't like cooking tteokbokki in the microwave, becaue when it's done, the sauce is too thin. So I cook it in a small pot on the stove. When you cook it that way, the sauce gets really good and thick and perfect. Anyway, I like this one.

I was so excited to try these after a friend told me about them. It was TERRIBLE!!! The rice cakes were tasteless and stiff, even after hydrating them twice! The package seasonings were stale and I am unable to return this product. Even with the Blacl Friday sale price....it's not worth it🤮

I haven’t had any other topokki to compare this to but OMGsh it’s so good!! Not to spicy. It has almost a sweet and spicy taste to it. Will definitely order more! i added a little bit of cheese to mine and perfection!

I liked this however it wasn’t spicy enough for my palate. So if you like a spicy Tteokbokki I’d recommend adding extra gochugaru or sriracha.

These taste great and are very addictive to me. I absolutely love Korean food but don’t have a way to get anything on a consistent basis until now. They are not the healthiest but are a treat every once in awhile.
