Look Very Nice - Sound Just OK
I have mixed feelings about the Microlab FC10s.On the plus side, they look great and seem to be very well built. It is difficult to tell what the cabinet is made of, but it is dense and heavy - not thin plastic like most computer speakers. The sides are covered in a translucent rubbery material....it is a lot like the high temp silicon that kitchen utensils are made of.The top is plastic covered, but still dense. The grills are metal and look very sturdy. They look great on the desk and will probably cause some positive cubicle comments. The design is clean, modern, and still businesslike (at least in white). The sound is just OK. It is clear, and they play pretty loud for their size, but they are smaller than I expected from the photos, and as a result they have very little bass. I wish Microlab had provided Amazon with the dimensions. They are just about 6" tall, 3" wide, and 7" deep (including the open space). With this small cabinet and just a 2.5" woofer, they barely cover the human voice range and very little below. The "DSP" Microlab touts doesn't seem to solve this. I have heard other similarly sized speakers with better bass - most use some sort of fancy internal ports or passive radiators to get further down deep. The sound they do have is well balanced (except for bass) with good highs...but I was expecting more.I would have rated them 4 stars if I really needed a speaker this small, but they loose a star because of the price. At the current $65 I would expect better sound than this. However, I expect others with a less critical ear and a greater appreciation of style may like them just fine.

Great looks, average sound
It's amazingly hard to find white computer speakers these days - much less stylish ones. I'm pairing these with an old iMac G4 (the "sunflower" computer) to use as a jukebox/streaming device. They match the color and look great. The sound is good but nothing special. I find that out of the box, the low end is exaggerated. Using the "Treble Booster" equalizer setting in iTunes fixes that, and then the sound is pretty accurate.

Total garbage. Worked for a couple months then the internal amplifier failed. I attempted to RMA with Microlab and they advised me it would cost more than the speakers to ship. They don't have a good domestic (USA) resource for handing customer service. They were rude and incompetent, and when I attempted to return with Amazon they were not helpful either. I have yet to receive my credit as promised. Very disappointed in these speakers and the overall experience.

Good Speakers
Compact size and will fill up one room with high quality sound. Trying to fill up more than one room with sound and speakers quickly fade.
