Skip Hop Baby Play Gym, Alphabet Zoo, Grey

After looking at all of the play gym's on Amazon and Babies R Us, we finally chose this one. And we were not disappointed! Our child started using this as a newborn to encourage him to do tummy time. He loved having the mirror on the floor and the fact that some of his toys could be attached to loops on the floor. It really helped keep him entertained to actually do tummy time for more than a few minutes at a time. The pillow was neat but he didn't use it for very long.Now my baby is bigger and can roll all over the place. He still loves being in the play gym. We have switched out some of the hanging toys with some of his most favorite ones and they fit perfectly. He will lay in this all morning as we get ready for work. It has transitioned very well with him. When we work on sitting up he loves playing with the soft arches and tries to chew on them. It ended up being a great toy to grow with him over several months instead of being something we could only use for a few weeks.Among other things, we have washed the mat a few times and it holds up pretty well. It is easy to take apart and put together. And once you take the toys off, it rolls up nicely so we can travel with it.

We have a problem with the delivery but it’s not the sellers fault. It’s a Shipping company error. This is an update to my earlier review but I have no way of leaving comments unless I click 1 star. I hope this does not affect the seller’s rating which I am very concerned right now :(. Best!

It's a beautiful, well-constructed item. However, a pediatrician friend of mine came over to visit the baby and saw we were playing with him under the hanging toys. We were putting the baby on his back, and having him stare up at the toys. Now, the way this is naturally set up, the headspace between the baby's eyes and the hanging toys is approximately 6 inches. Anyway, my friend noticed that the toys were hanging very close to the babies eyes, and he mentioned that this may not be a good idea for a baby to stare at items that close to his face. He reasoned that potentially that could cause near-sightedness down the line. Anyway, just his opinion, and for what it's worth, I thought it would be worth sharing to prospective buyers. We have since disconnected the hanging mobile and just hold it further away from the baby's eyes. Naturally, this somewhat defeats the purpose of this item!

First off, my 3 month old loves this gym! He stares at all the animals and tries to touch them (getting better at it too). It was pretty simple to set up and is super easy to move around. We mostly keep it on the floor of his bedroom, but when my mom babysits she sit on our bed with it, and its just as nice. If it's on a high surface (like our bed), we are careful to always keep an eye on him because we never know when he's going to start rolling over. A big plus for me is that the colors and design are not in your face. A lot of the play gyms out there are bright and noisy and pretty kitschy. This one is not loud or crazy for my tastes, but it seems to draw out my sons attention, so I don't think he's being deprived of the stimulation the others advertise. He's a happy baby in a simple, but adorable play gym. Works for us! :)

I bought this when my daughter was 6weeks old. I started to notice she would get bored easily and loved being stimulated. I didnt want to get her something pink and froofy just because shes a girl. I wanted something with purpose. I love this gym. Well SHE loves this gym. The mini boppy pillow is perfect for tummy time. The monkey rattle is her favorite she'll stare and bat at it t. Longest. I really like how everything is detachable...when we go out now I always take a few off so she has something to play with. I do suggest buying some of the travel accessories that go with it. We bought the stand a alone mirror and she gets a kick out of seeing another baby playing with her now that shes two months. I should add there already is a mirror included in the gym but she doesn't take to it like she does the one I can prop right in front of her.

My daughter has been using this for about 4 months now and seems to enjoy it. She likes the crinkle noise in the mat and the toys and the monkey rattle that hangs is her obsession. I really like that you can move the hanging toys to many different spots based on your little one. There are loops for the little animals on the cross bars as well as the mat itself. I LOVE that it all comes apart extremely easy for cleaning. I have washed the mat about 6 times now and the hanging toys twice and they have all held up great. The colors are neutral and not overbearingly bright like most children's toys while this sits in our living room.

This is baby's first toy, and she loves it! We put the whale at the top and she likes to look at the mirror on its underbelly. We found that having all of the animals hanging at once was a bit overstimulating, but one or two are perfect for our 7 week old.Also, the little pillow that came with it is perfect for tummy time. She wouldn't do tummy time for more than a few seconds before wailing her head off, but now, we put the little pillow under her arms and she loves it.The other bonus with this mat as compared to the treetop friends mat is that it fits perfectly over a 3x3 set of interlocking mats to make sure baby is safe during play time (not too firm so she can hurt herself, and not too soft so that she can't sleep on it).

This mat is fantastic! The colors and letters are adorable. Ears and fins have special material in them to make noise. Fabrics on the mat are different textures (though all very soft). The hanging whale has a mirror on the bottom as does the apple on the mat. The hanging monkey has a rattle, the lion (which my husband thinks looks like a koala bear) has a handle, the elephant has bells (which, when you hardly move the arches, the bells ring which is great for keeping baby entertained). The monkey on the mat squeaks when you push him. There are extra hooks on the arches and the mat for attaching additional toys.I liked that it was a nice gender neutral color scheme as well. When it was arrived, I loved discovering all the little touches that make it so fabulous!The only cons are that it's kind of pricey.

I personally don't like the color scheme, seems a bit dull.Baby loves it though... stares at whichever toy is hanging to his right. so we just rotate him around time to time.Did not know that each toy has features in it, example; Whale = press to play music, Monkey has visible rattle balls, Lion has a wooden tether, Zebra has a squeaky toy, Elephant has a rattle toy inside.Note: Currently 3 month old and the toys are kinda close to his face. Not a bad thing, because as he moves his hand, he hits the toys... enjoyable to watch.

Love this! Super cute, excellent toys with a variety of sensory development options. Lots to crinkle, mirrors, textures, patterns and colours. Machine washable. Good size. Extra loops for more toys. Very satisfied with this gym!
